Method and device for discriminating one of a group of NFC transmitters
A method is provided for differentiating one of a plurality of unpowered NFC transmitting devices for NFC communication with a receiving device. Each NFC transmitting device has a transmitter NFC interface and an NFC communication range. A range extending device has a power source, a transmitter communication interface, a range extender antenna, and an amplifier. One of the transmitting devices is selected and the range extending device is connected to it so that the transmitter communication interface engages the transmitter NFC interface of the selected transmitting device. This action serves to establish an extended communication range for the selected NFC transmitting device. The NFC transmitting devices are then positioned at a distance from the receiving device that is within the extended communication range, but outside the communication ranges of the other NFC transmitting devices. NFC communication is then established between the selected NFC transmitting device and the receiving device.
TECHNIQUES TO UTILIZE RESOURCE LOCATORS BY A CONTACTLESS CARD TO PERFORM A SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS
Embodiments may be generally directed to methods, techniques and devices to utilize a contactless card to perform a series of operations.
System for packaging, processing, activating, and deactivating multiple individual transaction cards as a singular unit
A transaction card processing and activation system comprising the identification of a unique identifier corresponding to an aggregate of transaction cards of affiliated or non-affiliated card issuers and the activation of each transaction card corresponding to the unique identifier of the aggregate irrespective of the number, types, or card issuers of the transaction cards. Additionally, the present invention allows a point of sale entity to initiate the activation of each of the multiple, disparate transaction cards in the aggregate by merely processing the unique identifier associated with the aggregate.
STACKABLE INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CARDS
Systems and methods allow for the integrated circuit cards (ICCs) to removably couple to each other and transmit information to an access device as a single device. One among the two or more ICCs coupled together may read data from the remaining ICCs and provide the data to an access device via contactless communication. The ICC may include a substrate; an integrated circuit embedded in the substrate; input ports exposed on a first surface of the substrate, and output ports exposed on a second surface of the substrate. The input ports and the output ports are electrically coupled to the integrated circuit. The output ports are configured to be removably coupled to the input ports of a second ICC.
Method of managing an emergency mode transaction procedure, and an associated device
A method and device for managing an emergency procedure of an emergency transaction mode that can be activated in the event of a computer attack on or a failure of a transaction network. The method may be carried out by an electronic device suitable for performing a transaction in a normal mode or in the emergency mode. The method performs operations that may include receiving an activation command for activating the emergency mode procedure, where the command includes an identifier of the procedure and first encrypted data; verifying the activation command, which includes verifying the first encrypted data; and if verification of the command is successful, activating the emergency procedure.
Determining specific terms for contactless card activation
Systems, methods, articles of manufacture, and computer-readable media for determining specific terms to activate a contactless card. An application executing on a server may receive a request from a device specifying a uniform resource locator comprising encrypted data, the encrypted data based at least in part on a private key assigned to a contactless card. The application may decrypt the encrypted data and determine a type of the contactless card. The application may determine a plurality of terms associated with the type of the contactless card and transmit the terms to a web browser on the device. The application may receive, from the web browser, an indication specifying acceptance of the plurality of terms. The application may store, based on the decryption of the encrypted data and the received indication specifying acceptance of the terms, an indication in a database specifying the contactless card is activated for use.
PERFORMING CARD LIFECYCLE ACTIONS FOR CARD ACCOUNTS UTILIZING ENCRYPTION AND DOUBLE SIGNATURE VALIDATION
This disclosure describes methods, non-transitory computer readable storage media, and systems that utilize encryption and double signature validation to perform card lifecycle actions for card accounts. In connection with a request to perform a card lifecycle action (e.g., setting a personal identification number) for a card account, the disclosed system provides an encryption key set to an issuing system server that issued the request. The disclosed system receives an encrypted request message from the issuing system server encrypted utilizing the encryption key set provided to the issuing system server and signed by the issuing system server and a client device. Additionally, the disclosed system validates that the signatures from the encrypted request message correspond to the issuing system server and the client device of the user. The disclosed system also decrypts the encrypted request message and performs the card lifecycle action based on data in the decrypted request message.
Booking management system
Secure authentication and delayed transaction processing for booking management systems is provided. Third-party services partner with booking management systems to aggregate and list offerings of the third-party services in a digestible display on a one-stop platform. A booking management system can manage the authentication of payment card information on behalf of any number of such third-party services. The booking management system can maintain and process authentication information associated with traveler payment cards, and provide virtual payment information to the third-party services for delayed transactions. The third-party services may later initiate the delayed transactions using the virtual payment information, without being required to perform authentication processing on the traveler payment card information maintained by the booking management system.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACTIVATING VIRTUAL CARD
The present disclosure relates to a method, an apparatus and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for activating a virtual card. The method includes: displaying an interface for selecting a virtual card to be activated upon receiving an instruction, where the interface for selecting the virtual card to be activated is configured to display at least two types of virtual cards in one or more pre-determined formats; determining a target virtual card where the target virtual card is the virtual card selected in the interface for selecting the virtual card to be activated; acquiring information to be authenticated when the target virtual card requires authentication, and activating the target virtual card when the authentication is passed; and directly activating the target virtual card when the target virtual card does not require the authentication.
System for processing, activating and redeeming value added prepaid cards
A computer implemented method for adding value to a stored value card in excess of the purchase price for the stored value card is provided. In one embodiment a stored value card transaction processor receives an activation or redemption request for a stored value card from a point of sale terminal. The activation or redemption request comprises at least one of a card identification, a point of sale terminal identification, a merchant identification, and a time of activation which is compared to data stored in a stored value card datastore to determine if the stored value card to be activated is eligible for a value added award. The processor then determines the value added award and modifies the request to include the value added award. The processor then transmits the modified request to the card issuer authorization system and receives a response which is forwarded to the point of sale terminal.
