Systems and methods are disclosed for a retail energy marketing system including a server interacting with a remote display device, a sponsor, an energy market organization, and a set of financial services companies. The server executes an application for servicing customers while interacting with the remote display device and a sponsor application for sponsors to set up advertising and incentives for the retail energy marketing system. The server also executes a database, an ESI ID lookup application for validating customer eligibility for services and an accounting application for EMO energy usage transactions, EMO invoice transactions, customer bills, customer payments, treatment operations, customer incentives and sponsor commissions. A remote display device is placed at a retail location where customers can sign-up for energy services, view and print their billing and payment histories, and pay their bills. In return for using the remote display device, customers may receive incentives from the sponsor.

In some examples, portable electronic device sales, provisioning, and user care may include authenticating a user associated with a user portable electronic device. A user portable electronic device connector may be used to communicatively connect to a portable electronic device receptacle of the user portable electronic device, and transfer data and/or configurations associated with the user portable electronic device to a data storage. Options to purchase a new portable electronic device may be displayed. Selection of a new portable electronic device may be received from a display of at least one new portable electronic device, and the selected new portable electronic device may be configured by transferring, from the data storage, the data and/or the configurations associated with the user portable electronic device to the selected new portable electronic device.

A mobile device with a display, processor(s), and memory: identifies a retail machine configured for wireless communications based on broadcasted information transmitted by the retail machine and including an identifier corresponding to the retail machine; transmits the identifier to a server and receives from the server an electronic communication including a promotional offer for products or services offered by the retail machine; displays the promotional offer; detects selection of a promotional offer; receives a notification from the retail machine that a product or service was provided by the retail machine for a user of the mobile device; transmits confirmation information associated with the notification to the server, receives promotion validation information from the server indicating validation of the promotional offer; and based on the promotion validation information, displays information confirming application of the promotional offer.

An interactive kiosk can be used for targeted advertising. In some embodiments, the kiosk can include a camera, a microphone, a speaker, a screen, and/or a wireless communication device. In some embodiments, the kiosk collects and analyses data regarding an audience within a given proximity. In some embodiments, the kiosk can be used to access a variety of information. In some embodiments, the kiosk can enhance human interaction. In some embodiments, the kiosk can have a series of apps that can generate a digital code that can be sent to portable devices capable of reading code (such as smartphones or tablets). In some embodiments, the device performs an operation that correspond to the digital generated code. In some embodiments, the code can extend the human interaction, past the kiosk experience, for example, the experience could continue on a portables device after a user moves away from the kiosk.

Systems and methods for converting consumer coins, cash, and/or other forms of value for use with mobile commerce platforms implemented on, for example, smart phones, PDAs, and other mobile devices. In one embodiment, a method for implementing a mobile commerce account on a mobile device includes receiving coins and/or other funds from a user at a consumer-operated kiosk. The method can further include counting the coins and/or other funds to determine a value, and then communicating at least a portion of the value from the kiosk to the hand-held mobile device for deposit in the mobile commerce account.

The system enables one to securely recycle an electronic device in a publicly accessible location. In particular, the embodiment described may be used by a mobile phone owner to submit his/her mobile phone for recycling via an electronic kiosk and receive compensation in some form. The compensation might be dispersed via cash, voucher, credit or debit card, or other magnetic or electronic transaction methods.

A recycling kiosk for recycling and financial remuneration for submission of a mobile telephone is disclosed herein. The recycling kiosk includes an inspection area with at least one camera and a plurality of electrical connectors in order to perform a visual analysis and an electrical analysis of the mobile telephone for determination of a value of the mobile telephone. The recycling kiosk also includes a processor, a display and a user interface.

A system for waste disposal monitoring using wearable recycling and cleaning monitors includes a plurality of user devices each associated with a unique identifier and each configured to be carried by a respective user. A smart waste receptacle includes a receptacle configured to hold a plurality of waste items, a reader configured to detect the unique identifier of one user device when the user carrying the user device deposits a waste item in the receptacle portion, and a communication interface configured to transmit a notification including the detected unique identifier of the one user device based on the user depositing the waste item in the receptacle. A processing system and incentive redemption location device can be used to issue incentive to users based on a quantity of waste deposited by each user.

A system and method for media trade-in exchange. The apparatus comprises a kiosk that allows a user to provide a plurality of media items to the kiosk for verification and analysis and then calculate the exchange redemption value. The exchange redemption value is calculated based on the physical damage of a media item, the included media item packaging, the included media item documentation, and the authenticity of the media item. The user may then choose to receive the redemption value in a plurality of options comprised of cash, debit, store credit, reward points, gift card, eCodes, or may alternatively, decline to accept the redemption value offer and have the media item returned to them.
