METHOD FOR DISTINGUISHING A REAL THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT FROM A TWO-DIMENSIONAL SPOOF OF THE REAL OBJECT
A method for distinguishing a real three-dimensional object from a two-dimensional spoof of the real three-dimensional object, the method comprising: obtaining, by an optical sensor of a mobile device, an image containing an object that is either the two-dimensional spoof or the real three-dimensional object; providing the image to a neural network; processing the image by the neural network by calculating: 1) a distance map representative of the distance of pixels to the optical sensor, the pixels constituting at least a portion of the object within the image, or 2) a reflection pattern representative of light reflection associated with pixels constituting at least a portion of the object within the image; comparing the distance map or the reflection pattern with a learned distance map or a learned reflection pattern; and obtaining as a final output a determination the image contains either the two-dimensional spoof or the real three-dimensional object.
Identifying key-value pairs in documents
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for converting unstructured documents to structured key-value pairs. In one aspect, a method includes: providing an image of a document to a detection model, wherein: the detection model is configured to process the image to generate an output that defines one or more bounding boxes generated for the image; and each bounding box generated for the image is predicted to enclose a key-value pair including key textual data and value textual data, wherein the key textual data defines a label that characterizes the value textual data; and for each of the one or more bounding boxes generated for the image: identifying textual data enclosed by the bounding box using an optical character recognition technique; and determining whether the textual data enclosed by the bounding box defines a key-value pair.
Display apparatus, method for displaying, and non-transitory recording medium
A display apparatus includes circuitry that displays, on a screen, a table including one or more table elements; receives handwritten data input on the screen by a user operation; and selects, based on the handwritten data, at least one table element of the table. The table element is a row or a column of the table.
Methods and systems for enrollment and authentication
Interactive based on said set steps of authentication methods for the recognition of a person. During authentication, a previously stored enrollment image is presented on a display to the person. A candidate person is instructed to present a reproduced image of the same scene and/or object to a camera while the person is holding the camera (mobile camera for example) unsupported in free space with respect to the scene or object. Alternatively the user can hold the object unsupported in free space with respect the camera using the camera, a candidate image of the viewed scene or object is captured and presented with the previously stored enrollment image. The candidate person aligns the candidate image with the previously stored enrollment image. On alignment, the candidate image is verified as an authentic image of the person and the candidate person is authenticated as the person previously enrolled. The motivation of the invention is that once a person authenticates and the data alignment is accurate as in the registration. The needed CPU resources decreases dramatically and the level of authentication is increased in few magnitudes.

Handheld arthropod detection device
Various embodiments include systems and methods of arthropod detection using an electronic arthropod detection device. The electronic arthropod detection device may scan a surface or a subject using one or both of a hyperspectral image sensor or a multispectral image sensor that is sensitive to multiple bands of electromagnetic radiation to detect the presence or likely presence of an arthropod in a region of interest (ROI). A camera sensitive to a visible band of electromagnetic radiation may be used to capture at least one image and provides the image(s) to an object detection model in response to determining that an arthropod is or is likely present in the ROI. Hyperspectral and/or multispectral images may be provided to the object detection model alone or in combination with visible light image(s). A processor may initiate an arthropod detected procedure in response to detecting an arthropod in the ROI.

Electronic device and method for processing handwriting input thereof
Disclosed is an electronic device for processing a handwriting input and including a touch screen, a processor operatively connected with the touch screen, and a memory operatively connected with the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions, which when executed, cause the processor to control the electronic device to perform handwriting recognition for a first handwriting input of a user displayed on the touch screen, to convert the first handwriting input into a text, identify at least one of an attribute or characteristic of the first handwriting input, apply at least one of the identified attribute or characteristic to the converted text, and in response to a request for conversion of the first handwriting input, replace the first handwriting input into a text (herein after, a first rich text) to which the identified at least one of the attribute or characteristic has been applied.
Data processing systems, devices, and methods for content analysis
Systems, devices and methods operative for identifying a reference within a figure and an identifier in a text associated with the figure, the reference referring to an element depicted in the figure, the reference corresponding to the identifier, the identifier identifying the element in the text, placing the identifier on the figure at a distance from the reference, the identifier visually associated with the reference upon the placing, the placing of the identifier on the figure is irrespective of the distance between the identifier and the reference.
Systems and methods for identifying objects and providing information related to identified objects
Systems and methods for identifying an object and presenting additional information about the identified object are provided. The techniques of the present invention can allow the user to specify modes to help with identifying objects. Furthermore, the additional information can be provided with different levels of detail depending on user selection. Apparatus for presenting a user with a log of the identified objects is also provided. The user can customize the log by, for example, creating a multi-media album.
