A processor of an electronic device is configured to display a plurality of strokes in the display. The processor is configured to display, in response to a first input indicating selection of at least one character distinguished by the strokes, a first visual object for identifying a first sentence including the at least one character. The processor is configured to identify, in response to a second input indicating selection of the first visual object, strokes included in the first sentence among the strokes, based on a spacing between a first word including the at least one character and a second word, and moments of a plurality of words including the first word, and the second word are inputted. The processor is configured to display, in the display based on identification of the strokes included in the first sentence, a second visual object corresponding to the identified strokes among the strokes.

Information processing apparatus, method and computer program product

According to one embodiment, an information processing device includes a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to acquire an image, determine a likelihood of presence of an objected within the image, display information on a position of the object within the image based on the likelihood, identify the object within the image, and generate a recognition result based on the identified object.

A machine translation of a document is created via a compilation of services by mapping textual content from an image to create a plurality of mapped locations correspondent to at least one object from the image, populating each of the mapped locations with at least one character indicative of the object, each character sharing at least one similar attribute, adding to the image the populated mapped locations, and highlighting at least a portion of the textual content in accordance with the populated at least one character. A compilation of services is provided for identifying, extracting, and assessing electronic images by using a layered approach that reduces time and improves reviewing of medical records and other kinds of documentation.

An object is to improve character recognition accuracy of handwritten characters, originally a single continuous character string, described discontinuously. An image area corresponding to a handwritten character is separated from a document image obtained by scanning a document and a character block including characters having the same baseline is extracted. Then, in a case where a plurality of character blocks is extracted from the first image area, a single character block is generated by combining character blocks based on a position relationship of the plurality of character blocks.

A processor may receive an image and determine a number of foreground pixels in the image. The processor may obtain a result of optical character recognition (OCR) processing performed on the image. The processor may identify at least one bounding box surrounding at least one portion of text in the result and overlay the at least one bounding box on the image to form a masked image. The processor may determine a number of foreground pixels in the masked image and a decrease in the number of foreground pixels in the masked image relative to the number of foreground pixels in the image. Based on the decrease, the processor may modify an aspect of the OCR processing for subsequent image processing.

Scoring method and system

A method to score a round of golf using a golf scoring system. The method includes capturing a photograph of a physical scorecard including handwritten text using a camera of a user device, wherein the physical scorecard includes handwritten characters disposed at least partially within rectilinear boxes. The method also includes accessing the photograph in an application of the user device. The method also includes identifying the rectilinear boxes by using a color contrast between the rectilinear boxes of the physical scorecard and a background color of the physical scorecard. The method also includes removing the rectilinear boxes. The method also includes after removing the rectilinear boxes, extracting at least the handwritten characters from the physical scorecard. The method also includes after extracting at least the handwritten characters, calculating a score of the round of golf using the extracted handwritten characters on the application.
