LEG COMPRESSION SLEEVE WITH INSERT FOR SHIN SPLINTS
A compression sleeve for wearing over the calf/shin to relieve the discomfort of shin splints. The compression sleeve includes a pocket on its inner face at an upper end of the sleeve, the pocket sized to removably receive a large, flat, substantially incompressible pressure block insert with a substantially flat inner face configured to engage a significant portion of the tibialis anterior muscle on the upper, outer part of the calf with locally increased compressive force with respect to the remainder of the sleeve.
Lower Body Assisting Device And Lower Body Assisting Method
To provide a practical technique for assisting the lower body of a subject by internally rotating thigh muscles.
A lower body assisting device includes a right leg strap 10R for internally rotate right thigh muscles, a left leg strap 10L for internally rotate left thigh muscles, and a waist/hip strap 20 linking them to each other. Both ends of the waist/hip strap 20 is connected to the back sides of the right and left leg straps 10R and 10L, respectively.
Pain Management and Post-Operative Hip Orthosis
An improved pain management and post-operative hip orthosis includes a waist strap having first and second ends, a lower strap having first and second ends, and a pocket extending between the waist strap and lower strap. The pocket has inner and outer panels fastened to each other to define an upper opening and a lower opening. A cooling pack including a reservoir and inlet and outlet tubes extending from a bottom of the reservoir is applied to the pocket such that the inlet and outlet tubes pass through the lower opening of the pocket.
THERMOFORMABLE SEMI-RIGID ORTHOSES
An orthosis for supporting a limb or a joint of a human or of a vertebrate animal, including: a sleeve which is at least partly elastic and is designed to enclose a limb or a joint, a plate made of a thermoformable material, and a pocket formed on the sleeve in order to receive the plate, the pocket having a shape adapted to that of the plate. The adherence between the plate and the inner surface of the pocket is treated in order to permit a relative movement of the plate with respect to the material forming the pocket during and after an operation of thermoforming of the plate, this being done by placing the orthosis on the limb or the joint with the plate present in the pocket. This orthosis is designed to be fitted in place and thermoformed by the user himself.
Removable Pediatric Hip Orthotic
A removable and replaceable hip orthotic that includes a back panel formed from a rigid material that supports a patient's lumbar area; a front panel formed from the rigid material that supports the patient's abdomen area and is hinged to the back panel to allow application and removal of the orthotic to the patient; a leg support that extends from the back support that includes a space that allows a patient's leg to pass through into the leg support; and straps to secure the back panel to the front panel and the leg into the leg support. The back panel includes a pair of windows with a trochanter pad movably disposed within the windows. An adjustment mechanism selectively moves the trochanter pads relative to the greater trochanter regions of the hips of the patient to apply pressure to the hip joint to prevent dislocation of the femoral head.
TRANSFORMABLE ORTHOPEDIC BRACE FOR INJURY PREVENTION
An orthopedic brace for preventing injury to a wearer including a body having a series of liquid filled regions, the body having a first more flexible state wherein the liquid filled regions contain a liquid material and a second more rigid state wherein the liquid within the regions is hardened to a second harder state, the body transformable from the first state to the second state upon receiving a force which exceeds a predetermined value. A chemical reaction or an isothermal process can cause the phase change.
DYNAMIC TENSIONING ORTHOSIS AND RELATED METHOD OF USE
An orthosis includes dynamic tensioning elements, recreating and/or improving on the load sharing typically provided by soft tissue, such as ligaments, tendons, muscle and a capsule at a joint of a patient or wearer, thereby providing support and preventing further injury from joint instability and/or joint laxity. The orthosis can support a glenohumeral joint of the shoulder brace and can prevent additional injury from various shoulder instabilities, for example, anterior, inferior, posterior and/or multidirectional instabilities. This can be accomplished by dynamically tensioning posterior, anterior and/or humeral head straps of the orthosis. The straps can be primarily adjustable only in tension forces stored there within, rather in orientation relative to the shoulder. This can simplify setup and use, and can ensure the orthosis has a low profile. Related methods of use also are provided.
Knee adjustment device
A device for adjusting the knee joint. The invention is configured to be a standalone device used by individuals on any flat surface. No power is required, pressure is applied manually. The invention is made to be easily adjustable, configurable, assembled, and transportable.
Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) and Method of Making The Same
The present disclosure provides a custom or pre-fabricated ankle foot orthosis providing tri-planar control of the ankle foot structure. The ankle foot orthosis comprises a brace body composed of reinforcement strips and a closure mechanism.
KNEE BRACE FOR THE TREATMENT OF GONARTHROSIS
A knee brace for the treatment of gonarthrosis comprises a fabric base (11), an upper half-shell (12) and a lower half-shell (13), constrained to the fabric base (11), a rod (14), constrained to the two half-shells (12, 13), as well as a pressure element (17, 17) for laterally supporting the knee against the side opposite to the rod (14), at least one front belt (18, 18) and at least one rear belt (19, 19), connected to the upper and lower half-shells (12, 13) and to the pressure element (17, 17), wherein one or both of the upper or lower half-shells (12, 13) are provided with a traction device (20), comprising a lever (21) and an inextensible cord (22), which is constrained at one end to the lever (21) and at an opposite end to the front belt (18, 18) and passes through a front return slot (23) placed on the half-shell (12, 13).
