Key fob with sliding lock status indicator
A lock button status indicator for use with a key fob having depressable lock and unlock buttons for remotely activating a locking/unlocking mechanism communicating with a door, such as a vehicle door. The lock button status indicator has a cross member extending over the lock button in a first position and extending over the unlock button in a second position. Means are provided for allowing the lock button status indicator to be manually moved back and forth between the first position and the second position. Means are provided for releasably retaining the lock button status indicator member in either the first or second position.
MODULE AND ELECTRONIC KEY USING MODULE
A module includes a housing including a battery housing portion that houses a battery, an operation accepting unit including a first board including accepting means that accepts an operation and is arranged on the first board, the first board being attached to the housing, and a second board housed within the battery housing portion along with the battery. A control circuit electrically connected to the accepting means is arranged on the second board.
Method for achieving interactions between user and automobile
A method for achieving interactions between user and automobile is disclosed. Specifically, the automobile is equipped with multiple distance sensors and multiple multi-dimensional sensors, and has a processor that is constituted to a keyless entry system with an electronic car key. During conducting the method, the distance sensors detect an approaching object, and the multi-dimensional sensors collect multi-dimensional parameters of the approaching object, such that the processor is able to judge an object action of the approaching object based on the multi-dimensional parameters. As a result, in case of the object action is determined to correspond with one of reference object actions, the automobile is controlled by the processor so as to conduct a specific action, for example, unlocking a door lock, opening a car door, adjusting an illumination of at least one car headlight, and starting automobile engine.
Vehicle occupancy reminder
The vehicle occupancy reminder is configured for use with a vehicle that is further defined with a vehicle engine control unit (VECU) that generates an ignition off signal and a door open signal. The vehicle occupancy reminder monitors the vehicle for a passenger in a child safety seat. The vehicle occupancy reminder generates a plurality of alarms when: a) a passenger is detected in the child safety seat after the VECU has transmitted an ignition off signal to the vehicle occupancy reminder; or, b) a passenger is detected in the child safety seat after the VECU has transmitted a door open signal to the vehicle occupancy reminder. When the vehicle occupancy reminder detects a selected alarm condition alarm condition, the vehicle occupancy reminder generates a plurality of visual, audible, and tactile alarms that alert an appropriate authority that a selected alarm condition has occured.
ELECTRONIC KEY
An electronic key includes a housing including a battery housing portion that houses a battery, the battery housing portion being provided in the housing, a battery terminal, arranged within the battery housing portion, that makes contact with one electrode of the battery housed within the battery housing portion, and a board, arranged within the battery housing portion, including a first conductive portion that makes contact with the battery terminal and is electrically connected to the one electrode of the battery via the battery terminal, and a second conductive portion that makes contact with and is electrically connected to another electrode of the battery.
METHODS AND APPARATUS OF ASSIGNING PRIVILEGED USERS TO ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS
Aspects of securely assigning new authorized users to networked equipment for the purposes of gaining entry into that equipment or accessing valuable data from that equipment are addressed. High security access key fobs are assigned to individual users and serve as proxies for their identities. A new user creation fob or other secure two-factor authentication method is used to verify the identity of a newly enrolled or newly modified user.
KEY FOB WITH FOAM LOCK STATUS INDICATOR
A lock button status indicator member for use with a key fob having a depressable lock button for remotely activating a locking mechanism communicating with a door. The lock button status indicator member is formed of a viscoelastic polyurethane foam having a slow recovery time. The lock button status indicator member has a base configured to abut the upper surface of the lock button. An adherent, such as a pressure sensitive adhesive, is located on the lower surface of the base of the lock button status indicator member, and is adapted to adhere the lower surface of the base to the upper surface of the lock button.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOTE KEYLESS SYSTEM CHARACTERIZATION
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system and method for characterizing the radio frequency (RF) functionality of a vehicle remote keyless system (RKS) by separating and precisely characterizing the individual bits of the overall RKS system in an enclosed controlled environment. More specifically, this RKS characterization system includes an enclosed testing chamber for isolating the key fob from the vehicle, and a simulation control system that manipulates RF signals between the key fob and the vehicle for controlled RF signal analysis between the components. In certain embodiments, the RKS characterization system includes an automated process for actuating the key fob. Through this process, the RKS characterization system is able to separately identify the Key Fob Factor, the Vehicle Factor, and the Person Factor, of the vehicle RKS system.
KEY FOB CHALLENGE REQUEST MASKING BASE STATION
A base station may include a transceiver, an indicator, and a processor programmed to detect presence of a key fob using one or more inputs. When the key fob is detected, the processor may direct the transceiver to broadcast an interference signal using the transceiver to prevent the key fob from detecting and responding to challenge requests and set the indicator to indicate presence of the broadcast. When an access request is received from a modem, using the transceiver the base station may temporarily discontinue broadcast of an interference signal to send a challenge request to the key fob and receive a challenge response, and send a response to the access request including information based on the challenge response.
Loop antenna for portable remote control device
A remote control device includes a first loop antenna portion in the form of a printed metallic trace on a first side of a printed circuit board (PCB) and a second loop antenna portion in the form of a raised metallic structure on a second side of the PCB. The first and second loop antenna portions are connected together through the PCB to form a loop antenna.
