Evaluating Currency in Areas Using Image Processing
A system evaluates currency in an area using image processing. In some examples, the system receives an image of an area from an image sensor, processes the image to identify at least one item of currency in the area, determine a value of the currency irrespective of validity, and counts the currency. In various examples, the system receives an image of an area from an image sensor; processes the image to identify at least one item of currency in the area; determines whether the currency has an error condition; and when the currency is determined to have the error condition, provides output on the error condition. In a number of examples, the system receives an image of an area from an image sensor; processes the image to identify at least one item of currency in the area; determines whether the currency is valid; and when the currency is determined to be suspect, provides output on the currency.

Identification devices, identification methods, identification programs and computer readable media including identification programs
An identification device according to the present invention that performs authenticity determination of an article provided with an anti-counterfeiting medium whose observed light pattern changes depending on an observation angle includes a similarity calculating unit that calculates a degree of similarity between captured image data of the anti-counterfeiting medium and reference image data; an authenticity determination unit that performs authenticity determination as to whether the anti-counterfeiting medium is genuine or not on the basis of whether the degree of similarity exceeds a predetermined threshold or not; and a match-percentage notification unit that notifies a match-percentage indicative of a degree of match between an imaging viewpoint for imaging the anti-counterfeiting medium and a reference imaging viewpoint which is predefined as the imaging viewpoint for the captured image data used for authenticity determination.
Method for authenticating a document
An authenticating method for authenticating a document from obtained images of the document, by determining an authenticity indicator of the document by verifying whether a meta-characteristic satisfies a predefined threshold associated to the meta-characteristic, the meta-characteristic being a measurement of a difference of a parameter of a detected element relative to a reference parameter of a reference model; and also an authenticating method for authenticating an identity of a person comprising performing the authenticating method for authenticating a document of the person, the document being an ID document, and determining an alikeness indicator by comparing a first face image and a second face image, using an image processing method; and authenticating the identity of the person depending on a result of the authenticating method performed for authenticating the ID document and whether the determined alikeness indicator is within an alikeness threshold.
