A paper sheet storage mechanism (e.g., a banknote storage mechanism 32) is provided with a pressing unit (e.g., pressing plate 46) which advances into a storage bag (e.g., banknote storage bag 34) held by a holding unit (e.g., holding member 36) and presses a portion of the storage bag from inside toward a placement unit (e.g., stage 40), thereby bringing a portion of the storage bag placed on the placement unit into a state in which paper sheets are stackable thereon. Before paper sheets are sent into the storage bag, the pressing unit is caused to advance into the storage bag and press the portion of the storage bag toward the placement unit.
Apparatus for aligning notes of value
An apparatus for aligning at least one note of value along a transport path has at least one transport element and at least one first drive unit for driving the transport element. The driven transport element moves the note of value along the transport path in a transport direction. The transport element includes an endless drive belt, which is deflected over at least two rotatably mounted deflecting elements and a second drive unit for displacing one of the deflecting elements along its axis of rotation. By displacing the deflecting element, the note of value contacting the belt is moved obliquely to the transport direction. A further apparatus includes at least one vane wheel by which the note of value is movable transversely to the transport direction.

An apparatus for aligning at least one note of value along a transport path has at least one transport element and at least one first drive unit for driving the transport element. The driven transport element moves the note of value along the transport path in a transport direction. A method for checking of magnetic properties of value documents with the aid of a magnetic sensor comprises a measuring sensor row having a plurality of magneto-sensitive measuring sensor elements, as well as at least one further magneto-sensitive sensor element which is arranged behind the measuring sensor elements and has a greater distance from the transport plane of the value document than the measuring sensor elements. By means of the further sensor elements, correction signals are detected at correction measuring points of the value document, which are disposed on the same measuring line as the measuring points. In order to eliminate the distance dependence of the measuring signals, the respective measuring signal of each measuring point is corrected on the basis of the signal drop which the correction signal ascertained for this measuring point has in comparison to the measuring signal of the respective measuring point.

A sheet handling apparatus for storing sheets into a storage bag that includes an opening and a frame having a gate for opening and closing the opening, includes: a mounting unit to which the frame of the storage bag is capable of being detachably mounted; a transport unit configured to transport sheets one by one; and a storage mechanism configured to stack the sheets transported by the transport unit, in a stacking area on the frame mounted to the mounting unit, and to push the sheets stacked in the stacking area into the storage bag through the opening of the storage bag to store the sheets in the storage bag.

The apparatus optionally has a formatting device for the automatic alignment of a value document stack removed from the value document container before the stack is inserted in the value document cassette. A finger element is attached to the transport device of the gripping device, and besides the gripping device, the finger element is guided into the value document cassette before the value documents are inserted.
