A banknote handling apparatus includes a plurality of storage mechanisms that are provided for each type of paper sheet and store a corresponding paper sheet, a distinguishing unit that distinguishes a first paper sheet input, a detection unit that detects that the first paper sheet is conveyed to a corresponding storage mechanism specified according to a result of distinguishing, and a drive control unit that controls driving of a gate portion that switches a conveyance pathway to the corresponding storage mechanism according to a positional relationship between the first paper sheet and a forward paper sheet conveyed earlier than the first paper sheet when conveyance of the first paper sheet is detected.

A money depositing and dispensing machine 1 includes: a storage compartment 100 provided with a first front opening 101; a stowage compartment 200 disposed on a lower side of the storage compartment 100; a storage portion 12 stored in the storage compartment 100 and storing paper sheets; and a conveying unit 13 stored in the storage compartment 100 and for conveying the paper sheets stored in the storage portion 12 to the stowage compartment 200. The conveying unit 13 is configured to be slidable in a direction of the first front opening 101 provided in the storage compartment 100. The stowage compartment 200 stows the paper sheets conveyed by the conveying unit 13.

The automated teller machine comprises a customer service part configured to receive customer operations; an input pocket; a media recognizer configured to recognize the medium; a first storage storing the medium; a discharge pocket configured to place the medium delivered from the first storage so that the customer can take the medium out; a first transport path that connect the input pocket, the media recognizer, the first storage, and the discharge pocket to transport the medium; a second storage storing a collected medium that is forgotten to be taken out from the discharge pocket by the customer; and a second transport path connecting the second storage to the first transport path, wherein the second storage is arranged above the first transport paths and on an opposite side of the customer service part.

Device for handling notes of value
A device for handling notes of value comprises a sensor unit for detecting at least one feature of a least one note of value to be dispensed. A control unit distinguishes depending on the feature detected by the sensor unit whether the at least one note of value is a first note of value that is approved for withdrawal or a second note of value that is not approved for withdrawal and activates a switch unit such that the at least one note of value is fed to an intermediate storage when it is a second note of value. The intermediate storage comprises a transport unit drivable in a first direction for feeding the second note of value and drivable into a second direction such that the second note of value can be conveyed out of the intermediate storage.
Modular automated transaction machine system
A modular ATM system is disclosed herein and can include a safe with a first port, at least one currency cassette and dispenser both positioned in the safe, a recycler, and a plurality of linking transport assemblies. The dispenser can move banknotes between the cassette and the first port. The recycler can be positioned on the safe, have second and third ports, and move banknotes between the second and third ports. The recycler can be positionable in a plurality of different orientations and offsets relative to the safe. The plurality of linking transport assemblies can each be individually engageable with the recycler. Each of the linking transport assembly moves banknotes between the first port of the safe and the second port of the recycler. Each linking transport assembly is individually positionable between the safe and the recycler.
