CONTACTLESS CARD PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

A dual-factor PIN based authentication system and method uses a cryptogram provided by a contactless card associated with the client in association with a PIN stored by the contactless card to authenticate the client. In some embodiments, cryptogram authentication may be preconditioned upon a PIN match determination by the contactless card. In other embodiments, the cryptogram may be formed at least in part using the personal identification number (PIN) stored on the contactless card encoded using a dynamic key stored by the contactless card and uniquely associated with the client. Authentication may be achieved by comparing the cryptogram formed using the PIN against an expected cryptogram generated an expected PIN and an expected dynamic key.

Information processing apparatus and security control method

In one embodiment, an information processing apparatus is mountable on and demountable from a docking station, and has an input device, an acquisition unit to acquire information indicating an operator for user authentication, and a processor. When the apparatus is mounted on the docking station, the processor permits acceptance of the operation input by the input device, without starting up the acquisition unit. When the apparatus is demounted from the docking station, the processor starts up the acquisition unit, and performs user authentication based on the information indicating the operator which has been acquired by the started up acquisition unit. When the operator is approved as a specific operator of the information processing apparatus, as a result of the user authentication, the processor permits acceptance of the operation input by the input device.

CARD READER WITH SILENT COERCION ALARM

Apparatus and methods for providing protection from economic exploitation. The apparatus and methods may include a platform for tagging a social security number and/or other suitable identification number. The system may allow a person associated with a social security number to automatically flag and deny any product or service request associated with the social security number. The alarms are “silent,” because the alarm may initiate an institution internal process in which the customer interaction with the institution follows a normal diligence process until an intervention can be effectively executed on behalf of the customer. This reduces the likelihood of a reaction from the customer's associate prior to completing the diligence process. A system may provide the customer with an opportunity to electronically activate an alarm by typing keystrokes on a card reader keypad or interacting with a physical sensor on the reader, on the card, or the like.

Swipe-based PIN entry

Methods, systems and devices are provided for input of a sequence of digits such as a PIN code or password. A user can use swipe motions to choose the value of a digit and double tap to accept a digit, and swipe up to confirm that input of the sequence of digits is complete. Embodiments can be implemented on point of sale devices, merchant devices and customer devices including mobile devices.

A dual-pin payment instrument is provided. The payment instrument may provide a user access to funds made donated to the user. The payment instrument may include a first set of credentials that provide access to funds/credit owned by the user. The payment instrument may include a second set of credentials that provide access to funds/credit donated to the user. To an onlooker, use of the payment instrument may not appear any different than typical payment instrument use. However an ability to access donated funds/credit may provide the user access to the donated funds/credit in a respectful manner.

Smart card with verification means

The present invention is directed to a smartcard that enables a one-time pin code offline security authentication with a card reader. This is achieved by generating a one-time pin code when the user inputs their pin code. The inputted pin code is encrypted and matched with the encrypted user correct pin code. If there is a match the one-time pin code is stored in memory and the transaction can proceed.

System and method for indicating entry of personal identification number

A system to indicate to a user to enter a personal identification number (PIN) on a commercial off the shelf (COTS) device, the system comprising: a secure card reader communicatively coupled to the COTS device, and wherein the secure card reader receives a payment card; a payment application installed on the COTS device; and one or more devices other than the COTS device. The payment application installed on the COTS device transmits one or more prompts to the one or more devices other than the COTS device based on a set of signals received from the secure card reader. The secure card reader transmits the set of signals after the payment card is received at the secure card reader, and the one or more prompts comprise at least one indication to the user to enter the PIN on a display of the COTS device.

Modular mobile point of sale device having separable units for configurable data processing

There are provided systems and methods for a modular mobile point of sale device having separable units for configurable data processing. A modular device may include a main unit that includes data processing features to allow for a mobile point of sale, including a data entry unit for payment data, a communication component to secure communicate that data to a centralized transaction processor, and a processing unit to receive the data and instruct the centralized to process the data with an online service provider. The module device may also be physically and communicatively coupled to additional modules that may increase the on-device functionality of the main unit, include a module to allow user input and additional modules to accept other types of transaction input. On detection of a connected unit, the main unit may secure connect to and authenticate each attached module.

Enhanced communication platform and related communication method using the platform

Pre-authorized communication services and/or transactions are provided via a plurality of networks in response to a request received from a user to provide at least one of a communication service, a transaction and user account information via a plurality of networks of different types. Prior to processing the request, there is verification of the user's authorization to receive the at least one of the communication service, the transaction, and the user account information, and that an account associated with the user has a sufficient amount currently available for payment of the at least one of the communication service and the transaction. After verification, an authorized account associated with the user is charged in real time as the at least one of the communication service and the transaction is provided.
