A moving object detector detects a moving object in a channel. The detection comprises the detector receiving a plurality of frames based on a transmitter transmitting a plurality of frames over a channel. One or more channel impulse responses (CIRs) of the channel is determined based on the received plurality of frames. The detector determines a CIR phase for each of the CIRs and a phase signal is formed based on a phase value of the CIR phase for each of the CIRs. The detector compares the phase signal with a target signal and detects the moving object in the channel based on the comparison.

A detection system for measuring one or more conditions within a predetermined area includes a fiber harness having at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light, the at least one fiber optic cable defining a node arranged to measure the one or more conditions. A control system is operably coupled to the fiber harness such that scattered light associated with the node is transmitted to the control system, wherein the control system analyzes the scattered light to determine at least one of a presence and magnitude of the one or more conditions at the node. An optical element is operably connected to the fiber harness or control system to alter or define the operational range or sensitivity of the node.

In a general aspect, motion is detected using wireless signals. In an example, a method includes receiving, at a wireless communication device, requests for the wireless communication device to transmit wireless signals, the requests initiated by a wireless sensing system. The method further includes transmitting a series of wireless signals from the wireless communication device in response to the requests, and detecting, at the wireless communication device, a trigger event after transmitting the series of wireless signals. The method additionally includes updating, by the wireless communication device, a state of the wireless communication device based on the trigger event, the updated state indicating that the wireless communication device is not enabled to transmit wireless signals in response to the requests from the wireless sensing system. The method also includes communicating, by the wireless communication device, the updated state of the wireless communication device to the wireless sensing system.

MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR DETECTION OF PHYSICAL ACTIONS COUPLED WITH AN ACCESS POINT OFF-LOAD CONTROL CENTER

A system includes a millimeter (MM) wave radar detector, where the MM wave radar detector generates signal data associated with a person of interest (POI) within a field of view of the MM wave radar detector. The system further includes an Access Point (AP) coupled with the MM wave radar detector. The AP includes a computing device to receive and analyze the signal data provided by the MM wave radar detector to determine a movement or action of the POI within the field of view, and facilitate generation of a feedback response in response to the determined movement or action of the POI.

A detection system for measuring one or more condition within a predetermined area includes a fiber harness having at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light. The at least one fiber optic cable defines a node arranged to measure the one or more conditions. A light source is coupled to the at least one fiber optic cable for emitting a modulated light to the node. The modulated light is transmitted into the predetermined area. A light sensitive device is coupled to the at least one fiber optic cable for receiving scattered light associated with the node. A control unit is operably coupled to the light source and to the light sensitive device to determine at least one of a presence and magnitude of the one or more conditions within the predetermined area.

A detection system for measuring one or more conditions within a predetermined area including a fiber harness having at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light. The at least one fiber optic cable defines a plurality of nodes arranged to measure the one or more conditions. A control system is operably coupled to the fiber harness such that scattered light associated with the plurality of nodes is transmitted to the control system. The control system analyzes the scattered light from each of the plurality of nodes individually and the control system analyzes the scattered light from each of the plurality of nodes collectively to determine at least one of a presence and magnitude of the one or more conditions within the predetermined area.

DETECTING A MOVING OBJECT BASED ON A PHASE OF CHANNEL IMPULSE RESPONSES

A moving object detector detects a moving object in a channel. The detection comprises the detector receiving a plurality of frames based on a transmitter transmitting a plurality of frames over a channel. One or more channel impulse responses (CIRs) of the channel is determined based on the received plurality of frames. The detector determines a CIR phase for each of the CIRs and a phase signal is formed based on a phase value of the CIR phase for each of the CIRs. The detector compares the phase signal with a target signal and detects the moving object in the channel based on the comparison.

High sensitivity fiber optic based detection

A control system of a detection system for measuring one or more conditions within a predetermined area includes a control unit having at least one processor for implementing an algorithm and a fiber harness having at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light, the at least one fiber optic cable defining at least one node arranged to measure the one or more conditions. A sensor is operably coupled to the at least one node, wherein the sensor receives scattered light associated with the at least one node and generates signals corresponding to the scattered light. A switch is operably coupled to the sensor and to the control unit. The switch selectively provides signals from the sensor to the control unit for processing to determine at least one of a presence and magnitude of the condition within the predetermined area.
