APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an assembly having a fluid impermeable casing having a fluid reservoir at a first end, a fluid outlet at a second end, and a longitudinally extending fluid impermeable layer coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid outlet and defining a longitudinally elongated opening between the reservoir and the outlet. The assembly can further include a fluid permeable support disposed within the casing with a portion extending across the elongated opening, and a fluid permeable membrane disposed on the support and covering at least the portion of the support that extends across the elongated opening, so that the membrane is supported on the support and disposed across the elongated opening. The assembly can further include a tube having a first end disposed in the reservoir and a second, fluid discharge end.
Medical device with an opening system
A medical device according to certain embodiments generally includes a first wall, a second wall, and a first deformable reinforcing member. The first wall and the second wall are joined to one another such that a cavity is formed between the first wall and the second wall. The cavity has an outlet opening formed at a proximal end of the medical device. The first deformable reinforcing member is attached to the first wall, and is deformable by manual application of pressure to lateral edges of the first deformable reinforcing member so as to radially distend the outlet opening. The first deformable reinforcing member includes at least one first notch formed in at least one lateral edge thereof. Each notch is configured to receive a portion of a user's digit to facilitate manual application of pressure to said lateral edges.
THE POUCH AKA THE DRIPPER
An article of manufacture for providing a small urine drop catching pouch comprises a small pouch having an opening and an inner liner for placing over a penis after urinating and a closure for securing the opening once the drop catching pouch has been used. The drop catching pouch is made from a material comprising sheep skin, silk, help, cotton, and bamboo. The closure comprises elastic, string, and VELCRO™. The inner liner comprises an absorbent layer for retaining urine and eliminating odor comprising sodium polyacrylate granules and baking soda.
Stomal diverter device
A stomal diverter device includes a catheter, a stoma rod, and a bracket. The catheter includes a first tube having an open end, a second tube spaced from the first tube having a closed end, and a drain tube. The stoma rod is positioned between the first and second tubes and includes structure to releasably attach the stoma rod to the abdomen of the patient. The bracket is supported on the catheter and the stoma rod and defines a locking feature that is configured to engage a mating feature of the stoma rod to secure the catheter between the stoma rod and the bracket.
External fecal management device
A fecal management device, and methods for applying a fecal management device to a patient, are described herein. In some embodiments, the fecal management device comprises a sheath having a first end and a second end, a first connector at the first end of the sheath, said first connector comprising a substrate that includes a first adhesive and a second adhesive, the second adhesive disposed relatively outwardly with respect to the first adhesive, the substrate having a multi-lobed contour with two opposing concave regions, a sheath port located at the second end of the sheath, the sheath port configured to removably mate with a collection bag port, and a collection bag, wherein the collection bag includes the collection bag port.
ONE PIECE OSTOMY POUCH ENHANCEMENTS
An ostomy appliance according to certain embodiments generally includes a pouch, an adhesive collar, and a release liner. The adhesive collar includes an adhesive to secure the pouch around a stoma. The release liner is configured to allow manipulation of the adhesive through the pouch. The adhesive collar is attached to the pouch around a stomal opening for fitting around the stoma, and the adhesive in the adhesive collar is attached to an inside of the pouch.
Ostomy pouching device
An ostomy pouching device for the removal of biological waste from a patient. An embodiment of an ostomy pouching device includes an outer container housing an inner bag for receiving waste from a patient's bowel. The device includes a bowel connector to connect the bowel to the inner bag. The outer container includes an air exit aperture through which air may exit the container as it is displaced as the inner bag expands, and a gas tunnel for removing gas from the inner bag.
STOMA COVER FOR COVERING A STOMA DURING AN EXCHANGE OF AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE
A stoma cover includes a hood and an adjustment band. The hood extends between a proximal end and a closed distal end. The adjustment band is connected to the proximal end. The adjustment band allows the hood to adjust between a first open size at the proximal end that is sized for placement over the stoma and a second size that is smaller than the first open size. The second size is adapted to secure the hood relative to a root portion of the stoma. A moisture absorbing material is disposed inside of the hood, where the moisture absorbing material is provided to absorb stomal output exuding from a meatus of the stoma.
OSTOMY DEVICES
The present invention provides an ostomy draining conduit comprising a proximal self-expanding internal sealing edge designed to be inserted into a stoma and seal the passage between the conduit's exterior wall and the stoma's interior wall; and a distal external draining edge, as well ostomy draining devices comprising same.
OUTLET CLOSURE AND SECUREMENT SYSTEM FOR DRAINABLE POUCH
A drainable pouch including an outlet closure and securement system is provided. The outlet closure and securement system include at least one tab and a cover including at least one slot. The drainable pouch is closed by folding up an outlet portion, wherein the folded up outlet portion is secured to and hidden behind the cover when the at least one tab is received in the at least one slot.
