Mounting assemblies for ostomy appliances comprising an adhesive skin barrier member having a multi-petaled outer perimeter

A mounting assembly for an ostomy appliance is disclosed. The mounting assembly comprises a body flange comprising a flexible plastic member comprising a flange ring, a rim, and first and second loops, and an adhesive skin barrier member. The mounting assembly also comprises an ostomy pouch comprising a proximal sheet having an aperture, a distal sheet, and a pouch ring attached to the proximal sheet, surrounding the aperture, the pouch ring comprising an adhesive coating thereon and third and fourth loops extending radially therefrom. The body flange and ostomy pouch are configured for the third and fourth loops to engage within the pocket of the first and second loops, respectively, the pouch ring to fit around the flange ring, and the rim of the flexible plastic member to contact the adhesive coating on the pouch ring. The adhesive skin barrier member has a multi-petaled outer perimeter.

Multi-petaled mounting members for ostomy pouches

A multi-petaled mounting member for an ostomy pouch is disclosed. The mounting member comprises a flexible plastic member comprising a central body portion, a surrounding rim, and an outer perimeter, a first double-sided adhesive substrate member comprising a first face, an opposite second face, and an outer perimeter, a second double-sided adhesive substrate member comprising a first face, an opposite second face, and a multi-petaled outer perimeter, and an adhesive skin barrier member comprising a first face, an opposite second face, and a multi-petaled outer perimeter. The perimeters of the first member and the adhesive skin barrier member substantially correspond in size and shape to the perimeters of the flexible plastic member and the second member, respectively. The perimeter of the second member has a size greater than the perimeter of the flexible plastic member and a shape corresponding to 2 to 8 petals extending radially from the second member.

DYNAMIC CONVEX OSTOMY BARRIER

A convex ostomy barrier assembly for attaching an ostomy appliance to a peristomal skin surrounding a stoma includes a skin barrier, an inlet opening defined in the skin barrier for receiving the stoma, and a convexity adjusting device. The convexity adjusting device includes a convex insert and an inflatable bladder, wherein the convex insert is configured to provide a convexity to the skin barrier and the inflatable bladder is configured to adjust at least one characteristic of the convexity.

A base plate of an ostomy appliance includes a film, an adhesive disposed on a proximal surface of the film, an annular ring connected to the distal surface of the film, and a release liner removably attached to the adhesive. A stoma-receiving through-going hole is formed through the film and the adhesive and the release liner. A first section of the base plate extends radially from the stoma-receiving through-going hole to a second section of the base plate, and the second section extends radially from the first section to an outermost perimeter edge of the base plate. The base plate is formed to have a heat-set curvature such that a proximal side of the second section is convex and a distal side of the second section is concave relative to the annular ring.
