Ostomy bag
An ostomy bag for receiving waste from a patient's stoma. The ostomy bag may include a finger probe for allowing a user to manually manipulate the stoma to clear blockages of the stoma. The ostomy bag may also include a stoma port for attachment to the patient's skin surrounding the stoma. A mating collar on the ostomy bag sealingly attaches the ostomy bag to the stoma port using a convenient quarter turn connection.
Ostomy appliance coupling assembly
A coupling assembly according to certain embodiments is configured for use with an ostomy appliance, and generally includes a first coupling, a second coupling, and a clamp arrangement. The second coupling is mounted to the first coupling and surrounds at least a portion of the first coupling. The clamp arrangement is mounted to the second coupling and surrounds at least a portion of the second coupling. The clamp arrangement generally includes a clamp ring and a clamp lock. The clamp ring includes a first end portion, a second end portion, and a continuous body extending between the first end portion and the second end portion. The clamp lock is operable to selectively couple the first end portion with the second end portion to thereby discourage separation of the first coupling from the second coupling.
OSTOMY POUCH WITH NIGHT DRAINAGE ADAPTER
An ostomy pouch includes a collection pouch having a first side wall and a second side wall connected to one another along a periphery, the collection pouch having a collection cavity defined between the first and second side walls, an outlet connected to and extending from the collection pouch, the outlet defining an internal passageway connected to the collection cavity, the outlet having a coupling element, and a drainage adapter configured to engage the coupling element so as to be coupled to the outlet. The outlet is foldable to a closed condition to close the collection pouch and unfoldable to an open condition to drain the collection pouch.
Ostomy Apparatuses and Related Methods
An ostomy apparatus comprising a flexible container having an interior chamber for receiving waste from a patient's stoma and an opening for surrounding the stoma, a housing coupled to the container, wherein the housing is configured to accommodate an absorbent material that surrounds the stoma, a port configured to provide fluid communication between the housing and a pressure source; and an adhesive layer configured to seal the housing to skin around the stoma.
CONTROLLED DISCHARGE OSTOMY APPLIANCE AND SHIELD THEREFOR
A controlled discharge ostomy appliance assembly comprises (i) a stoma seal that is self-urging with a dynamic damping characteristic that resists changes of seal volume, (ii) a press-fit coupling member displaceable from an unlocked position to a locked position as part of a press-fit process, and (iii) a single-use frangible portion. The assembly further includes a protector shield removably fastened to the appliance forming a combined assembly therewith. The protector shield comprises (i) a seal displacer manipulable for displacing the stoma seal to a non-operative position ready for fitting, (ii) a substantially rigid coupling member guard portion for protecting the state of the coupling member, and (iii) a bracing portion for bracing the single-use frangible portion.
Ostomy Apparatus
The present invention provides an ostomy apparatus which is capable of reversibly closing and opening an outlet of the ostomy apparatus. The outlet of the ostomy apparatus comprises a stretchable elastomeric tubular wall having a double wall tube-in-tube configuration.
Locking ring with lever arm
A locking ring (1) for an ostomy coupling as well as an ostomy coupling is provided. The locking ring includes two extension arms (4,5) connected at a common fulcrum (6) that will act as a hinge, when the arms are rotated with respect to each other. A toggle-mechanism may be used in the locking ring. The extension arms will through a connection to the locking ring close the locking ring upon rotation.
Coupling for an ostomy appliance
A coupling for an ostomy bag is provided. The coupling comprises a substantially non-extendable string functioning as locking ring in the coupling. The string is twisted by use of a tab when it is moved from an un-locked position to a locked position. A coupling as described can be made flexible and thereby more comfortable for the user.
Ostomy bag with gas check valve and water bottle connection
The Ostomy bag with gas check valve and water bottle connection is constructed of an impermeable bag that is further defined with a tapered design. A bottom portion of the impermeable bag includes an outlet from which the contents of the impermeable bag may be selectively released. The impermeable bag also includes a stoma port on a side surface, which is adapted to make fluid connection with a stoma of an end user. The impermeable bag is further defined with a top ridge that is distally opposite of the bottom portion. Located along the top ridge of the impermeable bag is a gas check valve, and which is adjacent to a water bottle connection.
Ostomy bag
A temporary stoma bag for receiving waste from a patient's stoma. The temporary stoma bag includes a bag and a sealing ring for temporary sealing against a stoma to facilitate changing of an ostomy bag or a stoma port for attaching an ostomy bag.
