AN OSTOMY SYSTEM OPERABLE TO INFORM AN OSTOMATE OF AN OSTOMY DEVICE CONDITION USEFUL IN PREVENTING LEAKAGE RELATIVE TO THE OSTOMY DEVICE
An ostomy system operable to inform an ostomate of an ostomy device condition useful in preventing leakage relative to the ostomy device includes a base plate, an electrode assembly, a coupling part connected to the electrode assembly, and a monitor device adapted to connect to the coupling part. The electrode assembly is configured to sense ostomy data including moisture propagation in the adhesive layer. The monitor device is configured to collect the ostomy data and inform the user of a future leakage condition.
Controlled discharge ostomy appliance and shield therefor
A controlled discharge ostomy appliance assembly comprises (i) a stoma seal that is self-urging with a dynamic damping characteristic that resists changes of seal volume, (ii) a press-fit coupling member displaceable from an unlocked position to a locked position as part of a press-fit process, and (iii) a single-use frangible portion. The assembly further includes a protector shield removably fastened to the appliance forming a combined assembly therewith. The protector shield comprises (i) a seal displacer manipulable for displacing the stoma seal to a non-operative position ready for fitting, (ii) a substantially rigid coupling member guard portion for protecting the state of the coupling member, and (iii) a bracing portion for bracing the single-use frangible portion.
OSTOMY APPLIANCE WITH FASTENING PADS AND RELATED METHODS
An ostomy appliance may include a wafer base plate to be coupled to a stoma of a patient and having a base layer with an opening positioned inwardly adjacent edges of the base layer, and first fastening pads carried by the base layer. The ostomy appliance may include an ostomy bag assembly to be coupled to the wafer base plate and having a bag with an opening to receive waste from the stoma of the patient, the opening being positioned inwardly from adjacent edges of the bag, and second fastening pads carried by the bag and configured to couple to the first fastening pads so that corresponding portions of the bag are retained against adjacent portions of the wafer base plate as the bag fills with the waste.
Medical device for controlling the release of waste content from a subject, uses and method thereof
The present disclosure relates to a compact medical device and method for controlling the release of waste content from an external stoma of a subject, comprising: a flange; wherein the flange comprises a vent hole and a vent cover for releasing gas waste content; an adhesive layer bound to the flange for attaching to the body of the subject; a displaceable cover for closing and opening the device, wherein the displaceable cover is configured to connect to the flange; an aperture configurated to surround the stoma for the release of waste content.
Urostomy Bag Carrying System
A urostomy bag carrying system includes a bag that may be carried. The bag has a pair of slots extending into an interior of the bag. A strap is coupled to the bag and the strap may be slung over a shoulder. Thus, the bag may be carried having the bag being positioned to cover a stoma on user. A urostomy bag is selectively positioned within the bag. At least one hose is fluidly coupled to the urostomy bag. The at least one hose is positioned in a selected one of the slots. Thus, the at least one hose may be fluidly coupled to the stoma.
Ostomy system base plate including electrical terminals and a coupling part attachable to a monitor device
A base plate for an ostomy system includes a monitor interface having a plurality of terminals for electrical coupling of a monitor device to the base plate and a coupling part to attach the base plate to the monitor device.
OSTOMY APPLIANCE
An ostomy appliance comprises a pouch having first and second walls, with an inlet aperture in the first wall. A stoma seal is carried by the second wall, and is disposed generally in register with the inlet aperture for sealing against a stoma in use. An outer coupling element is coupled to the first wall and surrounds the inlet aperture. An inner coupling element for supporting the stoma seal, is coupled to the second wall and/or to the stoma seal. The outer coupling element surrounds a periphery of the inner coupling element. The stoma seal may be of an inflatable type or an insertable type. Manipulation tabs may be provided associated with the inner and outer coupling elements.

Ostomy collection and drainage system
An ostomy collection and drainage system includes an ostomy pouch having an outer wall defining an internal collection area, an inlet opening formed in the outer wall and an outlet body connected to the outer wall having an outlet opening extending therethrough, the outlet body having one of a latch and a catch. The system further includes a closure configured for removable coupling to the outlet body and an adapter configured for removable coupling to the outlet body, the adapter having an adapter opening extending therethrough and the other of the latch and the catch. The adapter and the closure are interchangeably coupled to the outlet body such that in a first condition the adapter is coupled to the outlet body by way of engagement of the catch and the latch, and in a second condition the closure is coupled to the outlet body.
EMPTYING DEVICE
An emptying device assembly for evacuation of a stoma includes a first film layer and a second film layer. The first film layer and second film layer are attached along a peripheral part to form an emptying device, wherein the first film layer has a first hole. An integrated connector ring includes: an annular base defining a second hole concentric with the first hole, wherein the annular base is attached, to the emptying device assembly around the first hole; and a plurality of radially inwardly protruding flanges, wherein at least a subset of the protruding flanges are adapted to engage with an outer circumferential groove of a cylindrical ostomy implant or a lid of an ostomy implant. A method of manufacturing the emptying device assembly is also disclosed.
