System and Method of Managing a Lottery Service for Visually-Impaired Users
20220335857 · 2022-10-20 ·

A system and a method of managing a lottery service for visually-impaired users allow users to read a lottery ticket with a plurality of braille-inscribed ticket numbers. The system includes a PC device, at least one remote server, at least one physical lottery ticket, and at least one external server. The method begins by scanning the braille-inscribed ticket numbers off the physical lottery ticket with the PC device. The braille-inscribed numbers are converted into a plurality of digital ticket numbers with the PC device. The digital ticket numbers are relayed from the PC device to the remote server. A plurality of winning numbers is then received for the lottery service from the external server with the remote server. If the digital ticket numbers match the plurality of winning numbers, a lottery winning notification is generated with the remote server and is then outputted with the PC device.

Secure tactile display systems

In certain embodiments, secure data presentation may be facilitated for a tactile system. In some embodiments, the tactile system may include a display having carbon nanotube-based components having a surface that absorbs at least 96% of visible light. The tactile system may obtain tactile data and present the tactile data on the display by adjusting one or more positions of the carbon nanotube-based components based on the tactile data. In some embodiments, the tactile system may obtain environmental data (e.g., lighting data, presence data, etc.) for an environment (in which the display is located) and perform the adjustment of the positions of the carbon nanotube-based components based on (i) the tactile data and (ii) the environmental data.

WRIST-BASED TACTILE TIME FEEDBACK FOR NON-SIGHTED USERS

The present disclosure generally relates to tactile time feedback. Systems and methods for tactile time feedback include detecting a sequence of touch inputs at an electronic device, and in response to a determination that the sequence of touch inputs meets tactile time output criteria, output a tactile output pattern that indicates a time of day.

Device especially for a display for visually impaired people and display including such a device. The device includes a tactile screen, especially for a display for visually impaired people, said screen including, on one of the edges thereof, a line of icons that each correspond to a piece of software. The surface of the said tactile screen is divided at least into as many columns as icons, and the device includes an element for determining the position of the finger of a user on said tactile screen in order to control the implementation of the software corresponding to the determined position of the user's finger.

Impairment-adaptive electronic data interaction system

A system for dynamically adjusting content for an interaction impairment can include a data provider, an end-user electronic device, a user identification module, and a data adjustment module. The data provider can be capable of providing access to electronic data. One or more characteristics of the electronic data can be incompatible with an impairment of an impaired user. The end-user electronic device can be configured to allow the impaired user to interact with electronic data. The user identification module can be configured to identify an identity of the impaired user and/or the impairment of the impaired user. The data adjustment module can be configured to automatically adjust incompatible characteristics of the electronic data prior to presentation by the end-user electronic device. This adjustment can increase the ability of the impaired user to utilize the electronic data with the end-user electronic device.

Augmented Reality Panorama Systems and Methods

There is presented a system and method for providing real-time object recognition to a remote user. The system comprises a portable communication device including a camera, at least one client-server host device remote from and accessible by the portable communication device over a network, and a recognition database accessible by the client-server host device or devices. A recognition application residing on the client-server host device or devices is capable of utilizing the recognition database to provide real-time object recognition of visual imagery captured using the portable communication device to the remote user of the portable communication device. In one embodiment, a sighted assistant shares an augmented reality panorama with a visually impaired user of the portable communication device where the panorama is constructed from sensor data from the device.

Custom summary views for screen reader

A screen reader software product feature referred to as a custom summary view, or custom summary, has been developed. The custom summary feature solves the major problem faced by blind users when working with large sets of data. That problem occurs as a result of an inefficiency of gleaning important data from within these larger sets. The custom summary provides the ability to gather such data into a summary that can be navigated easily. This ease of navigation greatly levels the playing field in the competitive workplace for blind workers and students alike. Also taught is a feature, referred to as a multiple region support, which allows users to define blocks of contiguous cells containing data as “regions” when a document such as a spreadsheet is displayed by a screen reader. Regions can either be named by the user or be defined simply by the top left and bottom right cell addresses that represent the boundaries of the block of contiguous cells containing data.

Navigation for screen readers using data analytics

Provided is a method, computer program product, and system for navigating a webpage with a screen reader using a prioritization model. A processor may collect analytics information for a webpage. The processor may generate, based on the analytics information, a prioritization model for sorting a plurality of elements of the webpage. In response to a user accessing the webpage with a screen reader, the processor may navigate the plurality of elements of the webpage using the prioritization model.
