Perforated, combined receipt and label roll
A receipt and label roll comprises a core and a web having a longitudinally-extending axis and wound on the core along the axis. The web includes (i) a substrate having a front side and a back side opposite the front side, (ii) a thermally-sensitive coating disposed on the front side of the substrate, (iii) adhesive disposed on a portion of the back side of the substrate along the web axis, and (iv) a release coating disposed on the front side of the substrate along the web axis to prevent the adhesive from sticking to the front side of the substrate when the web is wound on the core. The web further includes (v) a longitudinal weakened structure extending along a direction parallel to the web axis and dividing the web into a first web portion on which the adhesive is disposed and a second web portion which is substantially devoid of adhesive.
Dissolvable Thermal Direct Adhesive Label and Methods of Assembly and Use of the Same
A label assembly including one or more dissolvable thermal direct adhesive labels and methods of assembly and use. According to one embodiment, each label includes a base layer, a thermal direct layer, an adhesive layer, and a barrier layer. The base layer, which has an upper surface and a lower surface, is water-dissolvable and may be made of a water-dissolvable paper. The thermal direct layer is positioned directly over the upper surface of the base layer and functions in the conventional manner to produce markings therein in response to heat. The adhesive layer is water-dissolvable and is positioned below the lower surface of the base layer. The barrier layer, which is positioned directly below the lower surface of the base layer and directly over the adhesive layer, serves to prevent migration of the adhesive layer through the base layer and into contact with the thermal direct layer.
Tamper-Evident Media
Tamper-evident media is provided. The tamper-evident media comprising a substrate and a plurality of die cuts in first portions of the substrate. A first side of the substrate comprising a print coating or image coating that enables the corresponding side of the substrate to be printed or imaged with custom indicia. A second side of the substrate comprising an adhesive. When the media is imaged with the custom indicia on the first side and adhered onto a surface of an item or an object using the second side. The media is incapable of being removed from the surface without damaging the media along one or more of the die cuts, which provides visible evidence that item was opened, or the object was used.
Direct thermal media and registration sensor system and method for use in a color thermal printer
An example disclosed media processing device includes an image processing unit; a first optical registration sensor; and a second optical registration sensor spaced apart from the first optical registration sensor along a first axis by a first distance associated with a gap between media units on a web.
Heat transfer labels with golden effect/hue
A golden effect heat transfer label includes a carrier and a golden effect design layer on the carrier. The golden effect design layer is formulated from an ink having a golden effect pigment present in a concentration of about 5 percent to about 35 percent by weight of the ink. The golden effect heat transfer label is transferred from the carrier to a target object as a golden effect feature and the golden effect feature exhibits a robust golden effect on the target object. The golden effect feature exhibits no adhesion failure and no visual change after being subjected to standard testing. The golden effect heat transfer label can be transferred onto target objects including apparel items, plastics, metals and carbon fiber objects.
Cutaneous information devices and methods to manufacture the same
An identification device to be adhered to the skin of an animal having a top side and a bottom side comprising: a substrate with a printable surface with biocompatible pigment displaying visually discernible information disposed on the top side of the substrate; biocompatible adhesive on bottom side of substrate; an electronic component below the top side of the substrate comprising an electronic device with the ability to send, receive, and store information; and a carrier sheet, wherein the substrate and the adhesive are flexible, elastic, biocompatible, breathable, and comprised of material allowing for transmission of moisture and vapor at a rate that allows the device stay affixed to the skin for its pre-determined useful timeframe to slow down deterioration of components below substrate and to minimize skin irritation.
DYE MIGRATION BARRIER FOR HEAT TRANSFER LABEL
A heat transfer label includes a carrier, a graphic layer, a barrier layer, and an adhesive layer. The barrier layer may be formed from a substantially solid formulation comprising a functional polyol component and a functional polyisocyanate component, wherein the functional polyol component and the functional polyisocyanate component reacts with each other to form the barrier layer configured to block dye migration.
PRESSURE-SENSITIVE LABEL
A pressure sensitive label and method for preparing same, the pressure sensitive label comprising: (a) a support portion, said support portion including at least a carrier layer; and (b) a transfer portion over said support portion for transfer of the transfer portion from the support portion to an article upon application of pressure to the transfer portion while the transfer portion is in contact with the article, said transfer portion including at least a patterned adhesive layer in confronting relationship with a surface of the carrier layer, wherein the patterned adhesive layer confronts less than substantially the entire surface of the carrier layer.
Temperature traceable indicator and method for manufacturing same
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a temperature traceable indicator capable not only of displaying temperature history, but also adding other additional information. To that end, a temperature traceable indicator according to the present invention is provided with a base material and a temperature indicating laminate disposed on the base material, and is characterized in that the temperature indicating laminate is provided with a coloring layer including a color former, a color developing layer including a color developer for inducing the coloration of the color former, and a barrier layer disposed between the coloring layer and color developing layer, and the barrier layer includes a barrier agent that is immiscible with the color developer, is frozen at a first temperature, and melts beyond a second temperature so as to allow the color developer to become diffused in the coloring layer so that color is produced.
TEMPERATURE EVALUATION SYSTEM, AND ARTICLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN WHICH SAME IS USED
The temperature evaluation system is provided with: a read-in device that acquires image data pertaining to the indicator; a storage device that stores the relationship between color density and temperature for each thermosensitive material; and a processing device provided with a color density estimation unit that estimates the color density of the thermosensitive material from the image data, a material identification unit that specifies the thermosensitive material used in the indicator, and a temperature estimation unit that selects, from among the relationships between color density and temperature for each thermosensitive material, the relationship between color density and temperature of the thermosensitive material specified by the material identification unit, and that estimates the highest temperature reached or the lowest temperature reached from the relationship between color density and temperature of the specified thermosensitive material and the color density estimated by the color density estimation unit.
