DIGITALLY PRODUCED LABEL TRANSFER USING SELECTIVE LASER SINTERING (SLS) METHODS
20200157384 · 2020-05-21 ·

A heat transferable label component for a garment or other clothing item or article is disclosed which is preferably produced using all digitally controlled manufacturing methods. The label component comprises a carrier layer, a release layer, an optional primer layer, a color design layer, a transition layer and at least one adhesive layer. The color design layer displays an image on the label, and the transition layer fixates the image and renders it wash and/or wear resistant. The at least one adhesive layer is positioned on the transition layer, and is preferably applied thereto via a selective laser sintering (SLS) process, wherein a powder layer is spread on the surface and fused with a laser. The adhesive layer can be a double layer comprising a white reactive adhesive layer that undergoes a crosslink reaction to become a thermoset and a substantially clear thermoplastic adhesive layer.

Thermal-sensitive appearance-changing label

A thermal-sensitive label includes a label-specific set point temperature visually displayed thereon, and a thermal indicator that changes visual appearance in dependence upon temperature change in comparison with a threshold temperature. The threshold temperature of the thermal indicator is set during manufacture to be a fixed amount above the set point temperature. The thermal indicator has a first visual appearance when a temperature measured by the thermal indicator is below the threshold temperature. The thermal indicator dynamically changes to a second visual appearance different than the visual appearance when a second temperature measured by the thermal indicator exceeds the threshold temperature. A label kit includes multiple labels with a variety of different set-points. Each of the labels may include one or both of a reversing thermal indicator for comparing current temperature to the threshold temperature and a non-reversing thermal indicator for comparing a maximum temperature to the threshold temperature.

Tamper-Evident Label

A label is provided with a warning layer coating integrated or applied to a front side of the label. The warning layer coating is not activated by application of heat; rather, the warning layer coating activates upon a directional force (vertical or horizontal pulling) applied to the label after the label was initially adhered to a container, bag, box, and/or object. Upon activation, visible color or a printed warning indicia is visible on a front surface of the label, providing evidence that the label was removed after initial application or providing evidence that the label was attempted to be removed after initial application.

Linerless label and cutting apparatus

An identification device to be adhered to the skin of an animal having a top side and a bottom side comprising: a substrate with a printable surface with biocompatible pigment displaying visually discernible information disposed on the top side of the substrate; biocompatible adhesive on bottom side of substrate; an electronic component below the top side of the substrate comprising an electronic device with the ability to send, receive, and store information; and a carrier sheet, wherein the substrate and the adhesive are flexible, elastic, biocompatible, breathable, and comprised of material allowing for transmission of moisture and vapor at a rate that allows the device stay affixed to the skin for its pre-determined useful timeframe to slow down deterioration of components below substrate and to minimize skin irritation.

HEAT TRANSFER LABELS WITH GOLDEN EFFECT/HUE
20200031161 · 2020-01-30 ·

A golden effect heat transfer label includes a carrier and a golden effect design layer on the carrier. The golden effect design layer is formulated from an ink having a golden effect pigment present in a concentration of about 5 percent to about 35 percent by weight of the ink. The golden effect heat transfer label is transferred from the carrier to a target object as a golden effect feature and the golden effect feature exhibits a robust golden effect on the target object. The golden effect feature exhibits no adhesion failure and no visual change after being subjected to standard testing. The golden effect heat transfer label can be transferred onto target objects including apparel items, plastics, metals and carbon fiber objects.

THERMOCHROMIC INK INDICIA FOR ACTIVATABLE QUALITY LABELS
20240060829 · 2024-02-22 ·

An activatable quality label operative to provide an indication of exceedance of a temperature threshold following activation thereof at a temperature less than or equal to an activation temperature, including a readable indicator located on the quality label and operative, following activation of the quality label at or below the activation temperature, to readably indicate exceedance of the temperature threshold, an actuator element operative to activate the quality label and indicia at least partially formed by thermochromic ink, the thermochromic ink having a first visual appearance at temperatures less than or equal to the activation temperature and a second visual appearance at temperatures above the activation temperature, such that a visual appearance of the indicia is indicative of whether the quality label is at a temperature less than or equal to the activation temperature and hence may be activated.
