A combined primary label and secondary label comprises a first piece of paper, a first release coating disposed on a portion of the first piece of paper, a second piece of paper, a second release coating different from the first release coating and disposed on a portion of the second piece of paper. The combined primary and secondary label further comprises an adhesive layer disposed between the first and second pieces of paper such that (i) a primary label can be peeled away with at least some adhesive of the adhesive layer from the second release coating disposed on the portion of the second piece of paper, and (ii) a secondary label can be peeled away with at least some adhesive of the same adhesive layer from the first release coating disposed on the portion of the first piece of paper.

BLOCK OUT LABEL, LABEL SHEET, AND RELATED METHOD

The present invention includes a label, a label sheet and a method for manufacturing the label. The label includes a paper facestock having first and second surfaces and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive proximal to the second surface. The label can be adhered to a substrate having pre-applied indicia to cover the indicia and the label is opaque enough to prevent the viewing of the covered indicia while matching the color of the substrate.

DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTABLE LABEL SYSTEM

A duplex label includes a label stock presenting opposite top and bottom faces that correspond to a label top and a label bottom, respectively. The label top is printable to receive exposed indicia that is visible when the label is adhered to the substrate. A pattern of adhesive is applied to only part of the bottom face of the label stock so as to define an adhesive portion of the label bottom. An area of selectively activated print coating is preapplied to only part of the bottom face of the label stock so as to define a printable portion of the label bottom. The printable portion is operable to receive hidden indicia when the print coating is activated, with the hidden indicia being concealed cooperatively by the label stock and substrate until the label is at least partly removed. The adhesive portion and the printable portion are nonoverlapping.

DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTABLE LABEL SYSTEM

A duplex label includes a label stock presenting a label top and a label bottom. The label top is printable to receive exposed indicia that is visible when the label is adhered to the substrate. The label stock includes multiple label plies, each having opposite top and bottom surfaces. The label also includes adhesive and an area of unactivated, selectively activatable print coating preapplied to define, respectively, an adhesive portion of the label bottom and a printable portion of the label bottom. The adhesive portion is configured to adhesively engage the substrate. The printable portion is operable to receive hidden indicia when the print coating is activated, with the hidden indicia being concealed cooperatively by the label stock and substrate until the label is at least partly removed.

DUAL LABEL COMBINATION

A dual label combination is provided. The label combination includes a label substrate, and the label substrate is die cut with at least three separate labels. The label combination also includes a liner substrate attached to a back side of the label substrate. The label substrate including at least two die cuts with one of the die cuts defining a liner label that corresponds to one of the at least three labels of the label substrate. A back side of the liner substrate includes a coating for imaging on the liner substrate with: inkjet, laser, direct thermal, or thermal transfer printing. The liner label and the corresponding label of the label substrate separable from the label combination by a manufactured pull tab substantially centered at a bottom of the liner label of the liner substrate and the corresponding label of the label substrate.

THERMAL INK LABELLED PACKAGING

Disclosed herein is a packaging label. The label includes a first region comprising a first thermochromic ink where the first thermochromic ink undergoes a permanent change from a first state to a second state when exposed to a first temperature. The label includes a second region having a second thermochromic ink where the second thermochromic ink undergoes a temporary change from the first state to the second state when exposed to the first temperature only to return to the first state upon being exposed to a desired second temperature.

Adhesive label assembly

An assembly includes a base layer, a top layer spaced from the base layer, a top layer adhesive disposed on an interior surface of the top layer, a liner sandwiched between the top and base layers, and a liner adhesive disposed on a second surface of the liner. The top layer, the liner, and a portion of the base layer collectively define a primary label removable from a remaining portion of the base layer. The primary label has a body section defined by a portion of the top layer and a portion of the liner and a tab section defined by a remaining portion of the top layer, a remaining portion of the liner, and the portion of the base layer covering the liner adhesive of the remaining portion of the liner.

A label for a container involving a sheet material having a printable side and a reverse side, one or more weakened areas defining a tortuous or serpentine strip of the sheet material, a high tack adhesive on at least a portion of the reverse side, and the one or more weakened areas defining the tortuous or serpentine strip are organized such that the tortuous or serpentine strip remains part of the label and a backing material is not needed to maintain the tortuous or serpentine strip in place between manufacture of the label and application of the label to the label's intended container. A method form making a label is also disclosed.

DISSOLVABLE THERMAL DIRECT ADHESIVE LABEL AND METHODS OF ASSEMBLY AND USE OF THE SAME

A label assembly including one or more dissolvable thermal direct adhesive labels and methods of assembly and use. According to one embodiment, each label includes a base layer, a thermal direct layer, an adhesive layer, and a barrier layer. The base layer, which has an upper surface and a lower surface, is water-dissolvable and may be made of a water-dissolvable paper. The thermal direct layer is positioned directly over the upper surface of the base layer and functions in the conventional manner to produce markings therein in response to heat. The adhesive layer is water-dissolvable and is positioned below the lower surface of the base layer. The barrier layer, which is positioned directly below the lower surface of the base layer and directly over the adhesive layer, serves to prevent migration of the adhesive layer through the base layer and into contact with the thermal direct layer.
