A light emitting embodiment uniformly illuminating a planar field configured to operate in conjunction with other like embodiments in proximity to form a continuous uniformly lit planar pathway and/or field of illumination.

A concealed light fixture sign includes a flange having stencil openings formed therein that define a message. A container extends from a rear surface of the flange and provides light through the stencil openings. The container is configured to be installed completely within a recess behind a mounting surface with the flange positioned substantially flush with the mounting surface. Translucent inserts positioned within the stencil openings are removable to provide access to an interior of the container after installation of the light fixture sign.

An aircraft emergency exit door indication system may comprise a first plurality of light sources, a controller, and a first sensor associated with a first exit door. The first sensor feedback signal indicates an availability for egress through the first exit door. The first plurality of light sources is operated by the controller based upon the first sensor feedback signal. The light sources may be lights that already exist in an aircraft such as ceiling wash lights, sidewall wash lights, floor path lights, dome lights, or passenger service unit lights. The system may include a second plurality of light sources logically separated from the first plurality of light sources based upon its location relative to the first exit door and a second exit door.

An intelligent sign, such as an exit or other informational sign, is equipped with control circuitry, at least one sensor, and in certain embodiments, a communication interface. The control circuitry can monitor sensor data from the associated sensors. The sensor data bears on various conditions or events associated with the area that is associated with the exit sign. Based on the sensor data, the intelligent sign can provide one or more operations. A sign operation may include any operation provided by the intelligent sign. When equipped with the communication interface, the intelligent sign may control its own internal operation and/or control the operation of other entities based on the sensor data, the type of sensor data, the content of the sensor data, and the like. The intelligent sign may also share sensor data or other information derived from the sensor data with other entities.

Provided are apparatus, methods and systems for providing lighting and communication. An apparatus may include a solid-state lighting panel including multiple solid-state light emitters and an input module that is configured to receive an input signal from a lighting panel group controller that is configured to collaboratively control multiple solid-state lighting panels.

An emergency lighting device includes a housing containing a high voltage connection. A light emitter is connected to the housing. A compartment in the housing having an opening is separated from the high voltage connection. A battery is positioned in the compartment and accessible through the opening.

A caution device and a display device are used to draw attention to either a hazardous area, e.g., a construction zone, or a desired event, e.g., a grand opening. The devices are visible during daylight but are also equipped with LEDs to illuminate during twilight, dark, and inclement weather. The devices are preferably reusable.

The frame has one wall section that is removable to enable the lens to be removed and reinserted in a different orientation relative to the frame. As a result, the lens can be oriented properly when the sign housing is turned to be mounted on either the wall or the ceiling. The lens is free of electrical contacts and electrical terminals.
