The visibility of the external scene from the inside of the transmissive transparent screen when the video image is not displayed and the visibility of the video image from the outside when the video image is displayed are satisfied.

In a video image display system comprising a projection device 100 and a transmissive transparent screen 1 having a first surface and a second surface on the opposite side of the first surface, having a visible light transmittance of at least 5[%], and displaying video images projected from the projection device 100 installed on the first surface side, as video images visible to an observer on the second surface side, the following formula 1 is satisfied:

An information displaying apparatus includes an information display disposed on a vehicle and oriented so content displayed on the information display is visible outside of the vehicle; and circuitry configured to control the content displayed on the information display, wherein in a first mode the content includes distribution information provided from a content server and in a second mode the content includes captured image information captured by a camera disposed on the vehicle.

An apparatus and method, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a transparent lighting source, a switchable opaque film bonded to the transparent lighting source to provide a vehicle component, and an electrical connection that connects to the transparent lighting source and the switchable opaque film such that the switchable opaque film is electrically controlled to switch between an opaque state and a transparent state. The apparatus for displaying display information according to the driving environment according to the present invention includes an input unit receiving driving environment information, a memory in which a program for controlling internal and external displays of a vehicle according to a driving environment is stored, and a processor executing the program, wherein the processor controls to select and project display information according to the driving environment information in an internal screen area and an external screen area according to preset partitioning.

The present application discloses a method of displaying images on a vehicle. The method includes disclosing user information, including an image to be displayed, to an exchange application, transmitting the image to a controller configured to receive user information, instructing, by the controller, an electronic display to display the image to display the image to a viewer outside of the vehicle, and displaying the image, by the electronic display, to the viewer outside of the vehicle. The electronic display is disposed on or integrated into a window of the vehicle and configured to move in unison with the vehicle to display the image. The electronic display is configured to be transparent to a viewer inside of the vehicle. The controller is in communication with the electronic display.

An apparatus and method, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a transparent lighting source, a switchable opaque film bonded to the transparent lighting source to provide a vehicle component, and an electrical connection that connects to the transparent lighting source and the switchable opaque film such that the switchable opaque film is electrically controlled to switch between an opaque state and a transparent state. A control unit independently controls the switchable opaque film and the transparent lighting source based on a predetermined application for the vehicle component.

A portable display assembly includes a housing that is elongated. A display is coupled to the housing and the display extends along a substantial length of the housing. The display displays indicia comprising customizable images and words to visually communicate a message to an observer. An adhesive strip is coupled to the housing to engage a surface to retain the housing on the surface. A sign is included that has a handle portion and a panel portion, and the handle portion can be gripped by a user for displaying the panel portion. Moreover, the housing is attachable to the panel portion of the sign such that the display can visually communicate the message to the observer.

A system has a display device attached to an automobile, with a display screen visible outside the automobile. Workstations specify location-based rules regarding image content to be displayed in specified geographic areas at specific times, and further specify a predetermined threshold of a number of automobiles that display a given threshold-limited image. An application server determines from the location-based rules a dynamic content schedule of image content to display at the display device when the automobile is in the given geographic region at a given display time. When the predetermined threshold of the number of automobiles displaying the threshold-limited image in the given geographic region is reached, an update to the dynamic content schedule is generated including a different image in place of the threshold-limited image, and a current image corresponding to the updated dynamic content schedule is displayed.

A vehicle gratitude communication system for communicating gratitude to other drivers includes a display apparatus and a remote apparatus. The display apparatus comprises a housing. A display is coupled within a housing front side and includes a translucent lettering portion and a backlight to selectively illuminate the lettering portion. A display battery and a receiver are coupled within the housing. A plurality of display engagement members is coupled to the housing front side and is configured to selectively engage a rear windshield of a vehicle. The remote apparatus comprises a transmitter coupled within a remote casing in wireless communication with the receiver. A power button is coupled to the remote casing and is in operational communication with the transmitter to illuminate the backlight of the display apparatus. A remote battery is coupled within the remote casing and is in operational communication with the transmitter.
