Disclosed are a display panel, a method of controlling the display panel. The display panel includes multiple pixel groups arranged in an array, wherein each pixel group comprises a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel which are adjacently arranged; a plurality of gate lines, wherein the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel in a same row of the array are connected to one gate line; a plurality of first data lines, wherein the first sub-pixels in a same column of the array are connected to one first data line; a plurality of second data lines. The second sub-pixels in a same column of the array are connected to one second data line of the plurality of second data lines; the first and the second data lines are spacedly arranged, and a driving component to which the gate lines, the first data lines and the second data lines are connected.

A pixel circuit and a display device including the pixel circuit are disclosed. The pixel circuit according to embodiments includes a first pixel circuit connected in parallel to an initialization voltage line to which an initialization voltage is applied, and including a first-first switch element connected to a first-first gate line and a first-second switch element connected to a first-second gate line; and a second pixel circuit connected in parallel to the initialization voltage line, and including a second-first switch element connected to a second-first gate line and a second-second switch element connected to a second-second gate line, and the first-second gate line and the second-first gate line are electrically connected.

A timing controller circuit is arranged to control at least a gate in panel (GIP) circuit in a display panel, and includes a data receiving circuit, a timing detection circuit, a control circuit, and a data transmitting circuit, wherein the data receiving circuit is arranged to receive an image data, the timing detection circuit is coupled to the data receiving circuit, and is arranged to detect an input timing of the image data, the control circuit is coupled to the timing detection circuit, and is arranged to determine a GIP timing of the GIP circuit according to the input timing of the image data, and generate a timing control output according to the GIP timing, and the data transmitting circuit is coupled to the control circuit, and is arranged to transmit the timing control output to the GIP circuit.

PIXEL ARRANGEMENT FOR MULTI-RESOLUTION DISPLAY PANEL
A display panel includes a first set of pixels that each include a respective red sub-pixel and a respective green sub-pixel and a second set of pixels that each include a respective blue sub-pixel and a respective green sub-pixel, where the first set of pixels and the second set of pixels are arranged on the display panel such that at least one side of each of the pixels in the first set of pixels is adjacent to at least one of the pixels in the second set of pixels, at least one side of each of the pixels in the first set of pixels is not adjacent to any pixel, and the green sub-pixels are arranged on the display panel such that the green sub-pixels are evenly distributed in the display panel.
MOBILE DEVICE WITH AN EXPANDABLE SCREEN
A mobile device includes a first display portion, a second display portion and a graphics processor. The first display portion is viewable while the second display portion is obscured when the mobile device is in a retracted configuration. Both display portions are viewable when the mobile device is in an expanded configuration. The graphics processor may be coupled to each display portion and configured to generate a first image for display on: the first display portion when the mobile device is in the retracted configuration; at least one of the display portions while the mobile device is in the expanded configuration; and at least one of the display portions while the mobile device transitions between the retracted configuration and the expanded configuration. The second display portion may be a flexible display material, such as an OLED display and with the first display portion may be a single sheet OLED display.

A curved display device includes a curved panel including a plurality of pixels, and an image compensation processor. The image compensation processor is configured to convert a first image signal into a second image signal by scaling the first image signal based on a curvature of the curved panel and a viewing distance between a viewer and the curved panel, map the second image signal onto corresponding pixels of the curved panel, and provide the mapped second image signal to the corresponding pixels of the curved panel.
