An ambidextrous or hand-specific glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and a digit region. The glove may be fabricated of nitrile rubber that is free of or essentially free of zinc, sulfur and accelerators to reduce allergic reactions in populations required to frequently wear protective gloves. A band region that partially or fully encircles a user's finger knuckles may be provided for easier finger bending. Texturing may be provided on glove surfaces that are used to grip articles. The tip regions on the front surface of the index and middle finger regions may be un-textured or smooth to enable a user to take a patient's pulse. These tip regions may be of reduced diameter and circumference so as to pull the glove material tightly around the tips of the user's finger so that even a faint pulse in a patient may be detected.

A disposable glove and a method for making the disposable glove that reduces or eliminates glove cuff roll-down. The disposable glove includes a treated area on the interior surface of the glove that extends from the hand area to a portion of the wrist-forearm area of the glove but such that at least a portion of the interior near the glove opening is untreated. The untreated portion of the interior surface of the disposable glove resists glove cuff roll-down when the glove is positioned on a user's hand and forearm.

A method for forming water resistant and breathable handwear is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: providing an outer shell, a liner that inhibits the transfer of heat from a user's hand, and a water resistant and breathable insert; applying a heat activated adhesive to a finger portion of the outer shell and the liner; assembling the outer shell, insert, and liner; and curing or activating the heat activated adhesive to form a bond between the layers. Water resistant handwear made through the process are also disclosed.

A lining is made of polyester with a cotton fill and contacts the entire inside surface of the outer layer. The back and the front of the hand cover are spaced apart from each other which forms a hand access opening. A combination of a pair of hand covers and a strap bracelet which is held in loops on the hand covers.

A disposable glove includes an elastomeric base layer having an inside surface and an outside surface. An elastomeric inner layer is fixed with the inside surface of the base layer and comprises an open-cell foam material configured to absorb excessive moisture on the hand. Preferably the inner layer is between one and eight mils thick, allowing enough flexibility that the glove may take an ambidextrous form. The inner layer is a closed-cell foam material treated with a chemical agent to open a plurality of the closed cells in situ. A liquid-impervious layer situated between the base layer and the inner layer, and an open-cell absorbent outer layer, may also be included. The inner layer includes a plurality of encapsulated compound microcapsules and a plurality of cotton fibers. Methods of manufacturing the glove are included.

VOLTAGE DETECTING GLOVE

A voltage detecting glove comprises a glove liner and an outer glove shell. A conductive antenna is disposed inside the outer glove shell but separated from the glove liner by a buffer. The antenna is connected to electronic circuitry configured to sense a voltage indicative of the proximity of the antenna to an AC electric field resulting from energized AC source, and to activate an alarm if the strength of the field exceeds a preselected threshold limit.

A thin coated supported glove, having a thin knitted liner, wherein the thin knitted liner has a plurality of finger components, a thumb component, a backhand component, and a palm component. The thin knitted liner comprises a covered yarn having a first yarn and a second yarn, wherein the first yarn is a core yarn that is 20 denier or less, wherein the second yarn is at least one of an intermingled yarn or a first wrapping yarn surrounding the core yarn, wherein the second yarn is 30 denier or less; and a thin polymeric coating adhered to the thin knitted liner.
