COMPUTER-BASED SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR GENERATING AESTHETIC CHORD PROGRESSIONS AND KEY MODULATIONS IN MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS
20210407477 · 2021-12-30 ·

Computer-based systems, devices, and methods for automatically generating aesthetic chord progressions and key modulations in musical compositions are described. Known harmonic relationships are expanded upon to produce a much richer set of harmonic transition probability models compared to conventional music theory, and these models are leveraged by a computer-based musical composition system to generate new musical compositions and variations of existing musical compositions. Techniques for enabling a computer-based musical composition system to automatically determine when to introduce a key modulation, what key to module to, and what chord progression(s) to use within the new key are all described.

Media-media augmentation system and method of composing a media product

A media-content augmentation system includes a processing system that receives input data in the form of temporally-varying events data. The processing system resolves the input into one or more categorized contextual themes, correlates the themes with metadata associated with at least one reference media file, and then splices or fades together selected parts of the media file, thus generating as an output, a media product in which transitions between its contextual themes are aligned with selected temporal events in the input data. The temporarily-varying events take the form of a beginning and an end in the case of a sustained feature, or a specific point in time for a hit point. A method aligns sections in digital media files with temporally-varying events data to compose a media product. The system augments a sensory experience of a user by dynamically changing and then playing selected media files within the context of the categorized themes input to the processing system.

MAPPING CHARACTERISTICS OF MUSIC INTO A VISUAL DISPLAY

A method and system for visualizing music using a perceptually conformal mapping system are provided. A music source file is input into a processor configured to carry out a series of steps on audio cues identified within the music and ultimately generate a simultaneous visual representation on a display device. The series of steps include application of one or more perceptually conformal mapping systems that essentially induce a synesthetic experience in which a person can experience music both acoustically and visually at the same time. The device extracts cues from the music that are designed to specifically capture fundamentals of human appreciation, maps them into visual cues, then presents those visual cues synchronized with the source music.

Electronic device and music visualization method thereof

An electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device, the method including receiving an input of a command to reproduce music contents, determining audio characteristics information on the music contents and situation information on an environment where the music contents are being reproduced; and displaying a visualization effect of visualizing the music contents using the audio characteristics information and the situation information, and reproducing the music contents.

REAL-TIME INTEGRATION AND REVIEW OF MUSICAL PERFORMANCES STREAMED FROM REMOTE LOCATIONS
20210225344 · 2021-07-22 ·

Systems and methods are provided for assembling and displaying a visual ensemble of musical performances that were created and uploaded from one or more locations that are remote from a host of the network, a director or other administrator reviewing submissions for selection and assembly, or perhaps merely remote from one or more other submissions received over a computer network. The assembled performances include a plurality of submissions, the submissions including performances created and uploaded at one or more locations remote from the location of the director for the assembly and display over the computer network. Systems and methods are also included for mapping one performance against another performance qualitatively, quantitatively, in real-time, or some combination thereof, enabling a musician, or a reviewer of performances, in the assessment of one performance relative to another performance.

MUSICAL NOTATION, SYSTEM, AND METHODS
20210241646 · 2021-08-05 ·

In one aspect, provided herein is a device for notating a musical composition. The device, in various implementations, is structured so as to be less laborious to notate, easier to read, and more simple to employ in notating, reading, and/or playing the music of a given composition to be composed and/or played. Accordingly, in its most basic form, the device herein disclosed includes a template, upon which template one or more symbols may be notated, where such notation is configured in a manner that more closely relates the note to be played with the mechanical action needed to be performed so as to play that note, such as on an instrument to be or being played.

Methods, Systems, Devices and Computer Program Products for Adapting External Content to a Video Stream
20210241739 · 2021-08-05 · ·

This disclosure falls into the field of adapting external content to a video stream, and more specifically it is related to analyzing the video stream to define a suitable narrative model, and adapting the external content based on this narrative model.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSOCIATION OF A SONG, MUSIC, OR OTHER MEDIA CONTENT WITH A USER'S VIDEO CONTENT
20210225343 · 2021-07-22 ·

In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for association of a song, music, or other media content with a user's video content. The system enables a user to associate a song, music, or other media content that is associated with an audio clip and a song metadata of a media content, with a video they are about to create, or have created, to create a video moment. A recipient of the video moment can hear the audio clip in combination with the video content, and also view the song metadata overlay, to determine the name of the song and artist that was used in the video, or optionally access the song at a media server, for further listening by the recipient.

Wireless handheld audio capture device and multi-vocalist method for audiovisual media application

Embodiments described herein relate generally to systems comprising a display device, a display device-coupled computing platform, a mobile device in communication with the computing platform, and a content server in which methods and techniques of capture and/or processing of audiovisual performances are described and, in particular, description of techniques suitable for use in connection with display device connected computing platforms for rendering vocal performance captured by a handheld computing device.

Information processing device, tempo detection device and video processing system
11094305 · 2021-08-17 · ·

An information processing device, a tempo detection device and a video processing system are provided. A beat of a piece of performed music is detected from a musical viewpoint. The information processing device includes: an acquisition part that acquires samples of musical sound signals in a time series; an evaluation part that has an adaptive filter using the acquired samples of the musical sound signals as reference signals and using samples of musical sound signals acquired a predetermined time earlier than the samples of the musical sound signals as input signals; and a tempo determination part that sequentially inputs the samples of the musical sound signals to the adaptive filter and determines a tempo corresponding to a musical sound based on a filter coefficient when a value of the filter coefficient of the adaptive filter converges.
