MEDICAL DEVICES FOR GENERATING HEAT AND METHODS OF TREATMENT USING SAME
A device comprising a heat-generating component that comprises an alkali metal is provided. The alkali metal in the presence of water at a point of contact of the device undergoes an exothermic reaction to generate heat in situ. The amount of heat generated is proportional to and/or limited by the amount (or moles) of water at the point of contact, and the heat generated is sufficient to achieve an increase in temperature at the point of contact to achieve a therapeutic or beneficial result. In one embodiment, the device is used for reducing sweat production in a subject suffering from excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis. In other embodiments, the device is used to substantially sterilize a surface or render a surface substantially aseptic.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF APPLYING NANO-DIMENSIONED ICE PARTICLES TO ANIMAL TISSUES
A therapeutic device includes a substrate, a seal to couple the substrate to a surface, and at least one port defined in the substrate through which a therapeutic fluid is introduced between the surface and the substrate such that the therapeutic fluid directly contacts the surface.
Temperature modulation assembly and a multi-layer retention mechanism for a temperature therapy device
A temperature modulation assembly and a multi-layer retention mechanism for such a temperature therapy device are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a temperature modulation assembly for a temperature therapy device has a heat spreader and a mounting plate coupled to a bottom portion of a spacer, wherein the heat spreader is disposed between the mounting plate and the spacer. The temperature modulation assembly has a heatsink and a fan coupled to a top portion of the spacer, wherein the heatsink is disposed between the top portion of the spacer and the fan. The temperature modulation assembly further includes a heating and/or cooling device disposed within a central opening of the spacer, wherein the heating and/or cooling device is located between the heatsink and the heat spreader.
Athletic chair with adjustable heating and height
A seating assembly for athletes includes seats having a back and seat portion, a base, an adjustable element, a user interface device, and a controller. The back portion includes a back heating member that provides heat to a user's torso. The seat portion includes a lower limb heating member that provides heat to the user's lower limbs. The base supports each seat. The adjustable element is coupled to the base and one of the seats and adjusts height of the seat. The user interface device receives an input regarding a desired temperature of the back heating member and the lower limb heating member. The controller receives the input and adjusts an operation of the back heating member and the lower limb heating member to achieve the desired temperature. The user interface device receives a second input to adjust the a height of the seat relative to the floor surface.
Heating device
A heating device includes: a temperature change unit that changes a temperature of a temperature change area; an induction unit that applies a stimulus to an induction area; and a controller, wherein the induction area is an area on skin surface, or an area that occupies a space that can be perspectively projected on the skin surface, the induction area is an area that does not overlap with the temperature change area, the induction unit applies at least one of a tactile stimulus and a visual stimulus to the induction area, the controller executes a first control for changing a temperature of a first temperature change area of the temperature change area and a second control for applying a stimulus to a first induction area of the induction area, and the second control is performed in accordance with the first control.
BACK SUPPORT DEVICES WITH INTEGRATED THERMAL THERAPY AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
An integrated storage pouch apparatus for a back support and thermal therapy device for supporting and applying thermal therapy to a user's back which includes a back support member having a first surface and an opposing second surface, the first surface configured to face and support a user's back, a thermal therapy storage compartment integrally formed between the first and second surfaces of the back support member and configured to store a thermal pack, first and second adjustable strap members coupled to opposite ends of the back support member, each of the first and second adjustable strap members are configured to wrap around a user's knee, wherein the back support member folds inside out to through the thermal therapy storage compartment to form a strap storage compartment configured to receive and store the first and second adjustable strap members. The combined back support and thermal therapy apparatus provides thermal therapy to the user, while at the same time using the user's knees to help support the user in a proper healthy posture, when sitting.
WOUND AND THERAPY COMPRESS AND DRESSING
A method of providing moisture therapy to a subject by applying a moist therapy compress against a treated body portion. The moist therapy compress includes a fluid-permeable shell, a flexible backing fastened to the shell to define an enclosure, and a hydrophilic zeolite fill granules loosely contained within the enclosure. The therapy compress is exposed to a source of moisture to cause absorption of water into the hydrophilic zeolite, and the moisture is delivered from the hydrophilic zeolite through the fluid permeable shell to the treated body portion.
SPINE SUPPORT DEVICE FOR MAINTAINING ANATOMICAL ALIGNMENT AND STABILITY
A spine support device includes a support plate having front and rear faces, a central opening, and a pair of stabilizing stirrups formed on the rear face of the support plate in spaced parallel relationship to augment the support provided by the support plate when positioned at its front face in contact with a portion of a person's back surrounding a region of spinal vertebra visible through the central opening in the support plate. The support plate has opposing inner side edge portions at opposing sides of the central opening and opposite peripheral side edge portions spaced outwardly therefrom with the stabilizing stirrups therebetween. The opposing inner side edge portions and the opposite peripheral side edge portions of the support plate have respective alternating peak and valley shapes for accommodating interconnecting facets of the spinal vertebra region visible through the central opening in the support plate.
Interactive therapeutic mat
A therapeutic mat is described. The mat provides therapeutic relief in the form of vibratory motion and/or heat. The mat or pad is particularly useful as a floor mat in a vehicle. The mat includes provisions to enable powering the mat from a 12-volt direct current source, such as used in an automobile or other vehicle. A massage module can be removed from the mat to facilitate cleaning of the mat. The mat may also include one or more upwardly extending provisions for massaging the arch region of a user's feet. Also described are illuminated mats. The lights of a mat can operate based upon the operation of another mat, pulsations of the massage module, or based upon acoustic levels in the vehicle.
Flexible Microwavable Heat Pack
The utility model relates to a flexible microwavable heat pack. At present, most physiotherapy products for treating cervical diseases are electronic physiotherapy products, all of which have the defects of poor curative effects and being easily influenced by such condition factors as time, site, or the like. The utility model consists of a rectangle pack and a plastic spine. The two ends of the rectangle pack are provided with pull-tabs, the interior of the rectangle pack is filled with composite materials, the plastic spine is arranged at a horizontal middle neutral axis part inside the rectangle pack, the two ends of the surface of the rectangle pack are provided with flanges, and the interior of the flange is filled with composite clay; the two sides of the surface of the rectangle pack are provided with a plurality of convex blocks, and the interior of the convex block is filled with composite clay; and the plastic spine is composed by the connection of a plurality of spine joints imitating the shape of a human spine. When in use, the rectangle pack is folded up and down, and placed in a cervical vertebra part of a human body for heat pack (or cold pack); moreover, the pull-tabs may also be pulled for massage. The flexible microwavable heat pack integrates the functions of health care, heat pack or cold pack and massage, s simple to operate, is convenient to use, has wide application scope, and is beneficial for generalizing.
