Support apparatuses comprising cooling elements
A support apparatus configured to support a person is provided. The support apparatus includes a top surface including one or more predetermined areas, one or more conduits located inside the support apparatus which are located proximate to the one or more predetermined areas, and an air supply configured to provide air to the one or more conduits for delivering to the one or more predetermined areas. The air supply includes a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature of the air provided by the air supply, a cooling element, and a controller communicatively coupled to the temperature sensor and the cooling element. The controller determines whether the measured temperature of the air is higher than a predetermined temperature, and controls the cooling element to cool the air to the predetermined temperature if it is determined that the temperature of the air is higher than the predetermined temperature.
Heating devices
A heating device includes a heating unit and device electronics. The heating unit is configured to deliver heat to a user's body. The heating unit includes a substrate and a heating element supported by the substrate. The device electronics are coupled to the heating element and are configured to store a first heating profile that includes data indicating how power should be delivered to the heating element over a first period of time. The device electronics are configured to deliver power to the heating element according to the first heating profile. The device electronics are configured to wirelessly receive a second heating profile from an external computing device. The second heating profile includes data indicating how power should be delivered to the heating element over a second period of time. The device electronics are configured to deliver power to the heating element according to the second heating profile.
Wearable Back Pad for Use with Topical Pain Relief
A wearable back pad used to deliver targeted topical pain relief. The wearable vest or wrap product enables a person to apply topical pain-relievers right where it is needed in cases of unilateral neck or back pain or to the upper back area that is not reachable by the person's own hands. The back pad will act as a vehicle to hold and deliver the pain-relievers in the form of consumable patch or a pocket-insert that is placed by the users themselves in the specified area with the goal of maintaining the person's independence and decreasing the need for helping hands. Back pad consumables can hold and deliver anti-itch and skin care preparations to the back hence expanding this product's indication for use.
Universal Wrap for Securing a Thermal Pack
A system and method for providing a universal wrap that can apply a thermal pack to many different regions of a patient's body. The universal wrap is provided in a standardized form. The medical provider is provided with options to modify the standardized form in order to adapt the wrap to many different applications.
Heating / cooling body treatment therapy pad system
A heating/cooling therapy treatment pad system incorporates a plurality of therapy pads that can be coupled together by connectors and attachments to form an integrated therapy pad assembly. The thermal pads have pouches for receiving thermal inserts that may be heated or chilled. The thermal inserts may be cylindrical in shape and there may be thermal insert gaps, or spaces between the pouches to enable better conformability of the therapy pad to a person's body, such as around the neck. The heating/cooling therapy treatment pad system may include a neck therapy pad, spine therapy pad, head and face therapy pads, shoulder therapy pad, lumbar therapy pad, armpit thermal therapy pad and a thermal therapy pad vest. The system of pads interconnect to provide tailored thermal therapy to multiple areas of a user's body and may be used to effectuate rapid cooling and in particular for those suffering from heat exhaustion.
DEFORMABLE THERMAL PACK
A thermal pack including: a pouch having a thermal material; covers for covering the pouch. The covers having field portions and first and second bonding edges peripherally outside the first and second field portions. A bendable and deformable support ring formed of sheet metal is disposed between the first and second bonding edges. The pouch is retained between the first and second covers by: at least indirect bonding of a first inner surface of the first bonding edge to a first side surface of the support ring and at least indirect bonding of a second inner surface of the second bonding edge to a second side surface of the support ring; and/or sewing an inner periphery of the first bonding edge to an inner periphery of the second bonding edge and/or an outer periphery of the first bonding edge to an outer periphery of the second bonding edge.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR AT LEAST ONE OF ICING, HEATING, AND COMPRESSING A USER'S BODY PART
A wearable device for at least one of icing, heating and compressing a user's body part is disclosed. The device includes an inner part and an outer part, each having an upper end and a lower end. The inner part has a first set of elastic properties, and the outer part has a second set of elastic properties. The outer part surrounds the inner part. A first attaching means is configured for attaching the lower end of the inner part to the lower end of the outer part. A compartment for receiving ice is defined by the space between the outer part and the inner part above the first attaching means. A compression force is provided by the second set of elastic properties compressing at least one of a hot element and cold element against the user's body part thereby eliminating a second attaching means above the first attaching means.
Therapeutic wrap
The subject matter of the invention relates to therapy wraps for the application of compression and/or thermal therapy to a patient. The wraps are formed of at least two layers of material which are sealed together to form at least one cavity between them. The wraps may be used in conjunction with a therapy machine which fills the cavity or cavities of the wraps with fluid such as a gas and/or a liquid. The unique shapes of the wraps are particularly suitable for providing therapy to the human body. The shapes permit the manipulation of the wraps around various portions of the human body such as the shoulder, back and foot.
Back brace device
The present invention provides a device that provides relief for lower back pain and corrects bad posture. The back brace device comprises a plurality of belts having a rear side, a front side, and a first end removably securable to a second end. The rear side of at least one of the belts has an inflatable bladder that is controlled by an air pump. The device further comprises having a heating element and a vibration mechanism that can be turned on or off as desired by the user. The present invention is used by placing the belt around the waist of the user and securing the first and second ends to one another via one or more suitable fasteners. The bladder is then inflated in order to provide support to the back of the user.
