Cooling System
20200268547 · 2020-08-27 · ·

Technologies are described herein for cooling systems. In some aspects, a cooling system includes an adsorbent chamber and an evaporator. The cooling effect caused by the evaporation of refrigerant in the evaporator is applied to a patient on a support device, such as a gurney or stretcher, cooling the patient. The evaporated refrigerant is adsorbed by absorbent in the adsorbent chamber.

Aspects of the present invention provide miniaturized cryoprobes having shaft diameters up to 2 mm and including a stiffening element that may act as a grip for manipulation of the cryoprobe.

Various aspects of the present disclosure are generally directed towards apparatuses, systems, and methods that may include a cryoprobe: In certain instances, the cryoprobe may include an elongate shaft and an operating head having an expansion chamber. The elongate shaft may include a first passageway configured to provide high pressure gas to the expansion chamber, a second passageway for evacuating gas from the expansion chamber, and a vacuum chamber coaxially arranged around the first passageway and the second passageway.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THERMAL TREATMENT OF TISSUE

Systems and methods for a medical device configured to provide cooling to a tissue region are provided. The medical device may be configured to noninvasively or invasively cool the tissue region to a predetermined operating temperature via a two-phase heat transfer process.

BODY COOL DOWN DEVICE AND METHOD
20190307604 · 2019-10-10 ·

A series of side-by-side inter-contacting cooling gel channels acting together form a body cool-down device which cools the body for at least three days or up to several weeks without needing re-soaking. Two semipermeable membrane sheets of fabric are attached together with a series of side-by-side channels sewn into the fabric. Granular super absorbent polymer or super absorbent polymer gel capsules are loaded into the channels. Soaking the device in water for five to fifteen minutes transforms the super absorbent polymer into a greatly expanded volume of cooling gel causing the channels to expand in contact with each other acting together as a single passive open system thermodynamic device for cooling a body.

Balloon Catheter

A catheter is provided comprising a flexible heat transfer element provided on an outer surface of the catheter, a conduit arranged to supply an inflation fluid for inflating the flexible heat transfer element so as to form an inflated balloon, a guide wire lumen for receiving a guide wire, and an elongate cooling element arranged to cool said inflation fluid for inflating the balloon. Said cooling element and said guide wire lumen are arranged inside the flexible heat transfer element such that, when inflated the cooling element is substantially central within the balloon and said guide wire lumen is parallel to and radially offset from the cooling element.

PROSTHETIC LINER, PROSTHESIS SOCKET OR ORTHOSIS

A prosthetic liner, prosthesis socket or orthosis with a base body, which has a volume through which gas can flow and which comprises at least one supply line and at least one evacuation line, wherein at least one compressed gas source, which is connected or can be connected to the at least one supply line such that an activation of an activation element causes compressed gas to flow out of the compressed gas source through the volume and at least partially cools the base body.
