THERMAL SYSTEM WITH THERMAL PAD FILTERS
A thermal pad is adapted to be placed in physical contact with a patient and to receive temperature controlled fluid from a thermal control unit. The temperature controlled fluid circulates through the thermal pad and controls the patient's temperature. The thermal pad includes first and second sheets that are sealed together about their periphery to define a fluid chamber there between. A fluid inlet and fluid outlet are fluidly coupled to the fluid chamber. In some embodiments, a filter sheet is sandwiched between the first and second sheets and arranged such that fluid entering the fluid inlet must pass through the filter sheet before exiting out of the fluid outlet. A plurality of bonds may be included that seal the first and second sheets together at a plurality of locations. In some embodiments, a non-sheet filter is positioned within the fluid chamber and filters the circulating fluid.
TOURNIQUET AND TISSUE PRESERVATION SYSTEM
A tourniquet apparatus (10) comprises at least two expandable members (21,22) configured for applying pressure on a limb of a subject; and actuating means (143,144) for actuating the at least two expandable members (21,22), wherein the actuating means (143,144) are configured to actuate each expandable member independently and/or selectively. There is also provided a limb-cooling apparatus (200) comprising an inner stretchable layer (210) configured to engage and/or contact a limb of a subject; an outer layer (220) at least partially attached to the inner layer (210); and a cooling system (240) configured to supply a cooling medium (250) between the inner layer (210) and the outer layer (220).
RADIANT HEAT FOOT WARMING DEVICE(S)
A radiant heat foot warming device including a top planar surface configured to emanate radiant heat therefrom to warm feet of a user; a bottom planar surface spaced apart from the top planar surface; a plurality of curved sidewalls positioned between and connected to the top planar surface and the bottom planar surface; and an adjustable temperature control member positioned on the top planar surface that displays device temperature and further adjustably controls device temperature to regulate radiant heat emanating from the top planar surface.
MOLDABLE HEATER WITH MINIATURE HARMONIC RESONANCE FREQUENCY VIBRATION GENERATOR FOR OPTHALMIC EYELID THERAPY INCLUDING NEUROSTIMULATION DEVICE
Embodiments provide a moldable warming device, including a heating disc; a first harmonic resonance frequency stimulation vibration generator (RFSVG); a coupling device; a mask configured to hold the heating disc, the first harmonic RFSVG, and the coupling device for use in parallel utility; and a sensor array, the sensor array configured to determine tuning parameters of a vibration and heating profile of a user's individual eyelid, periorbital, and nasal three-dimensional anatomy and surface topography. According to at least one embodiment, the moldable warming device is configured to provide an eyelid surface and periorbital structures with therapeutic warmth, and the first harmonic RFSVG is configured to provide tuned harmonic resonance or non-resonance frequency stimulation vibration over the user's nasal bridge area through the user's nasal bone such that nasal sensory nerves are stimulated to induce tear production reflex in the user's lacrimal function unit.
A Blanket for Forced Air Warming of a Patient
A blanket for forced air warming of a patient, the blanket including a non-air permeable outer layer an air permeable inner layer contactable to the patient; the outer layer and inner layer defining an inflatable chamber, the inflatable chamber allowing egress of the forced warming air through the inner layer; wherein in use, the inflated chamber provides visual transparency of the patient.
Hip Orthotic Configured for Thermal Packs
A hip joint orthotic that can be used in stages. In the first stage the orthotic includes a stiff relatively brace assembly that can limit the amount of allowed flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction. In the second stage the relatively stiff brace can be removed and the orthotic can be used as a soft wrap. In both stages the orthotic is configured to easily mount and retain a thermal pack in a desired position or positions. In many instances the thermal pack will be a cold pack, but in some cases a hot pack may be used as well.
COOLING PAD
The invention provides a cooling pad 110 for alleviation of pain or discomfort, especially in the perineum as a result of childbirth. The pad 110 has at least one chamber 116 containing a fluid (such as saline) for cooling. There is at least one aperture 126 for allowing passage of body fluid. The aperture 126 is located inboard of the chamber 116.
Aperture 126 is formed in a web 124.
Cooling pad 110 may be used alone or as part of an assembly, sandwiched between cover layer 130 and peel-off backing 132, and is intended to be placed in a freezer prior to use.
Self-heated consumer spa products and applications thereof
The following description relates generally to self-heated consumer spa products heated by means of a prolonged exothermic chemical reaction for various therapeutic and/or spa applications for applying heat to portions of a person's body.
A Blanket for Venipuncture
A blanket for venipuncture or cannulation on a patient's hand using forced air warming, including a non-air permeable outer layer and an air permeable inner layer the outer layer and inner layer defined to form an inflatable chamber, the inflatable chamber allowing egress of continuous forced warming air on the patient's hand; wherein in use, continuous forced warming air dilates and allows for visual identification of the patient's hand veins.
Apparatus and Methods for Establishing and Maintaining Bodily Temperature Levels
The presented invention is directed to an apparatus and methods of thermal treatment for a body and/or limb of a subject. Embodiments of the invention include a composite for maintaining temperature and moisture levels surrounding the body or limb to which the composite may be applied. A preferred embodiment of the invention includes a moisture retention material, a temperature retention material, and a vapor barrier material.
