EPIDERMAL PAPER-BASED ELECTRONIC DEVICES

The present disclosure relates to a novel epidermal paper-based electronic devices (EPEDs), and the methods of making and using the epidermal paper-based electronic devices. The epidermal paper-based electronic devices comprise an electrically conductive layer; and a paper layer with a first hydrophilic side and a second omniphobic side, wherein the electrically conductive layer is attached to the first hydrophilic side of the paper layer.

Compress for Relief from Radiation Treatments
20200297527 · 2020-09-24 ·

A compress for treating and preventing radiation dermatitis, comprising a reservoir layer configured to store and release a mixture of skin-cooling ingredients, wherein the compress is cold before applying to skin exposed to radiation therapy or becomes cold after applying to skin exposed to radiation therapy.

Animal cooling kit

The combined members potentiate the autonomic, thermoregulation of an animal such as a horse. An absorbent wrap cools an animal by removing its extra heat during extreme physical and environmental conditions. The wrap member is submerged in water, excess moisture removed, then placed in a sealed, insulated cooler lined with frozen icepacks where the components stay cold until use. The wrap is removed from the cooler and seen in one embodiment fitted around the neck of an animal and held in place by fasteners. Temperature remediation occurs through a countercurrent exchange where incoming and outgoing elements touch to remove heat. The cooling wrap increases an animal's physiological mechanisms by working with their vascular structures and respiratory tract during selective brain cooling (SBC). The animal while stationary or under movement is cooled through the processes of conductive, evaporative and circulatory cooling.

Perspiration Absorption/Prevention Headband Device with Cooling Means
20200253307 · 2020-08-13 ·

A perspiration absorption/prevention device designed for use in medical applications, specifically for use by surgeons or other medical personnel. The device is preferably comprised of a headband base member, an absorbent pad, a pocket member and a cooling means stored therein, but may further comprise an adjustment means for further securing the device to a user's forehead or neck area. The cooling means prevents the formation of perspiration on the user, and fatigue generally. Further, any perspiration that does form is quickly absorbed by the absorbent pad before it can drip from the user and onto the patient, surgical tools, etc. The absorbent pad is both detachable from the remainder of the device, and disposable. In this manner, the remainder of the device can be recycled or reused, costs may be lowered and medical waste reduced.

WEIGHTED MEDICAL BLANKET FOR WARMING AND COOLING
20200229967 · 2020-07-23 ·

A weighted medical blanket is provided for containing a polymer gel; the device of the invention maintains consistent weight over time and can be warmed or cooled to be applied to patients to provide heating or cooling and can be easily cleaned, reused, and its weight reconstituted through the insertion of water through an insertion valve and insertion sleeve suited to reduce flow out of the device. Disclosed is a method for alleviating post-operative shivering utilizing the device of the invention.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THERMAL TREATMENT OF TISSUE
20200222103 · 2020-07-16 ·

Systems and methods for a medical device configured to provide cooling to a tissue region are provided. The medical device may be configured to noninvasively cool the tissue region to a predetermined operating temperature via a two-phase heat transfer process. In some aspects, the medical device can be configured to be in communication with a vacuum to provide a suction to the medical device. In some aspects, the medical device can be adapted to a medical device to noninvasively cool the tissue region near a fractional treatment area.

A pack with Super Absorbent Material (SAM) inside and without refrigerant fluid inside. A system for dispensing a cold pack including a filling unit for taking in a waterproof SAM pack with SAM inside and without refrigerant fluid inside and adding refrigerant fluid to an inside of the SAM pack, producing a refrigerant pack. Apparatus for producing a cold pack including a SAM source, a source of refrigerant fluid, a bag filler for filling a bag with a mixture of SAM and refrigerant fluid, producing a refrigerant pack, and a cooler for cooling the refrigerant pack, thereby producing a cold pack. Related apparatus and methods are also described.

CANNABINOID-INFUSED POST-OPERATIVE DENTAL DRESSING
20200163746 · 2020-05-28 ·

A dental dressing to promote hemostasis, reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and lower incidence of infection associated with dental surgical procedures. The dressing comprises a three-dimensional absorbent matrix to assist in the removal of exudate associated with iatrogenic trauma, and embedded cannabinoid-infused therapeutic phytoconstituents to provide substantially localized therapy to the surgical site. The cannabinoid-infused therapeutic phytoconstituents are substantially contained within a porous dressing pouch shapeable to substantially engage the iatrogenic trauma while fitting generally over and about the surgical site. At least part of the dressing matrix substantially conforms to the surgical site, thereby engaging the therapeutic phytoconstituents intimately with the iatrogenic trauma.
