AUTOMATED DATA STORAGE LIBRARY DRONE ACCESSOR
A data storage system that moves and transfers components utilizing drones is disclosed. The data storage system comprises a data storage library for reading and writing of data on a plurality of data storage cartridges, at least one drone vehicle, a processing device, and a non-transitory, computer-readable memory containing programming instructions. The programming instructions are configured to cause the processing device to: receive a request to transfer a data storage component to a destination location in the data storage library, in response to receiving the request, instruct a drone vehicle to perform at least part of the transfer of the data storage component to the destination location, and perform at least part of the transfer of the data storage component to the destination location by the drone vehicle.

Component accommodating body managing apparatus, component accommodating body storeroom, and component storage instructing method
A component accommodating body managing apparatus includes a preparation component extractor, a management storage, and a storage instructing unit. The storage instructing unit generates and transmits storage instruction of the component accommodating body that is stored in the component accommodating body storeroom, based on the preparing number of components, which is extracted by the preparation component extractor, and the accommodating number of components, which is stored in the management storage. Further, the storage instructing unit instructs the component accommodating body storeroom that the accommodating number of components in the component accommodating body that is to be stored in the component accommodating body storeroom henceforth satisfies the preparing number of components.
Positioning shuttle cars in a tape storage shuttle complex
Methods that can position shuttle cars in a tape storage shuttle complex are provided. One method includes tracking, by a processor, tape drive occupancy in a plurality of library strings of a shuttle complex, the tape drive occupancy indicating that each tape drive in the plurality of library strings is one of occupied and vacant and positioning a set of shuttle cars in the shuttle complex based on the tape drive occupancy in the plurality of library strings. Apparatus and computer program products that can include, perform, and/or implement the methods are also provided.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE PLAYBACK SYSTEM WITH MULTI-TIERED STORAGE
This invention relates to video surveillance management solutions. More specifically this invention relates to the integration of multiple tiers of dissimilar computer data storage technologies in such a manner to deliver longer term video retention and easy video playback. The device captures video data from multiple surveillance cameras and stores it on computer hard drive and then replicates to a second tier of digital data tape storage. Video retention policies are determined from parameters for the number of cameras, frame rates, resolution, and number of days of video retention desired. Storage procedures are set for multiple tiers of video storage that will allow for the highest quality video to be recorded without alteration or manipulation. A human video operator will then have the ability to select any available recorded video under management and have that video retrieved and available for display and playback without any additional steps or human interaction.
Electronic device
An electronic device includes a chip component including a terminal electrode, a case having an accommodation recess accommodating the chip component, a conductive terminal attached to the case and connected to the terminal electrode, and a case cover disposed on an opening-edge surface of the case so as to cover the accommodation recess. The opening-edge surface has an opening-edge recess at least partly covered by the case cover. The opening-edge recess and the case cover have a space therebetween. The space is filled with a resin.
Data storage device with high signal-to-noise ratio contact detection
A data storage device may have increased signal-to-noise ratio contact detection by employing a transducing head assembly separated from a data storage medium by an air bearing with the transducing head assembly receiving an alternating current as directed from a controller. The alternating current can be configured to induce random transducing head motion when the air bearing has a greater than zero size and a cyclical transducing head motion when the air bearing has a zero size.
Unsuccessful storage media movement handling in automated removable storage media environments
Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems, methods, and computer readable media to handle unsuccessful movements of removable storage media in an automated removable media system. In a particular embodiment, a method provides receiving one or more user provided parameters that indicate one or more types of unsuccessful media move operations that should be reported as successful. The method further provides receiving a first request to move a first item of removable storage media from a first position in the automated removable media system to a second position in the automated removable media system and initiating a first move operation of the first item from the first position to the second position by at least one changer device. The method then provides determining that the first move operation resulted in one of the one or more types of unsuccessful media move operations and indicating that the first move operation was successful in response to the first request.
