Apparatus for therapeutic cooling and warming of a body portion of a human or mammal
At least one thermoelectric assembly controlled by a microprocessor and disposed on a thermal conduction pad configured to conduct energy to and from the thermoelectric assembly and adjacent the treatment area positioned with removable electronics and a breathable liner. The hot intensity, cold intensity and time delay between sequences can also be selected as well as alternating temperature sequences with both vibration and tension monitoring to promote blood flow and speed up healing.
System and method for providing anal perineal prostate vaginal pelvic floor contrast therapy
A system and method for providing Anal Perineal Prostate Vaginal Pelvic Floor contrast therapy are presented. The system may comprise a human interface device, fluid tubing, a pump, and a reservoir. The system may be operable to apply any combination of heat, cold, and pressurized compression to a therapy recipient and demonstrates particular utility for treating anal-prostate-perineal and vaginal areas. The system may be operable to impart a desired therapy temperature to the human interface device and to expand a membrane containing a therapy fluid. The expanded membrane may conform to the contours of a therapy site. Operation of the human interface device may be controlled using a remote-control device. The therapy recipient may be able to control the temperature of the fluid circulating through the membrane and may be able to control the pressure of the fluid within the membrane.
MEDICAL METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SKIN TREATMENT
The present invention generally relates to improved medical devices, systems, and methods, with exemplary embodiments providing improved cooling treatment probes and cooling treatment methods and systems. In some embodiments, freezing of the skin may be desirable to effect the hypopigmentation of the skin of the patient. Generally, embodiments may limit supercooling of the skin of the patient during a cooling treatment. Additionally, embodiments may limit adverse side effects such as hyperpigmentation. It has been found that the freezing behavior (frequency and time to freeze) can be modified by adjusting the thermal parameters of the cooling applicator. Accordingly, in some aspects of the invention, a method of treating the skin may be provided where the thermal parameters of the cooling applicator are adjusted during treatment.
Heating and cooling supply for facial brush
The invention provides a skin treatment device especially for use for treating skin in terms of cleaning, exfoliating and/or massaging the skin. The device comprising a housing and a skin treatment head releasably attached to the housing. The skin treatment head being rotatable around an axis element associated with the housing, wherein the housing encloses an actuator configured to rotate the skin treatment head, wherein the skin treatment head comprises one or more brushes associated with a support element, wherein the device further comprises a first thermally conductive element configured at a shortest distance (d1) to the one or more brushes selected from the range of 0-40 mm, and wherein the device further comprises a thermoelectric element configured to heat in a first mode the first thermally conductive element to provide a hot surface.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE
A temperature control device has a temperature acquisition unit that acquires information indicating a temperature around a user and a control unit that controls a Peltier element worn by the user to cool or warm the user based on the temperature. The control unit causes the Peltier element to warm the user when the temperature is higher than or equal to a first threshold and causes the Peltier element to cool the user when the temperature is lower than a second threshold.
SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING INTERVAL THERMAL THERAPY
The disclosure concerns a computer-controlled system for interval thermal therapy; the system including a control unit console configured for placement on a bench-top or similar setup, the console is connected to a hand-held thermal therapy application assembly, either by way of a cable extending between the hand-held assembly and the console, or via a cordless coupling therebetween. The hand-held assembly generally comprises a removeably applicator with a thermally conductive contact surface configured to communicate hot or cold thermal energy, or a combination of hot and cold thermal therapy in various intervals, the contact surface of the hand held assembly is used to contact a patient's body at a desired treatment site for effectuating various physiological treatments or therapies.
Systems and methods with interrupt/resume capabilities for treating subcutaneous lipid-rich cells
Systems for removing heat from a subject's subcutaneous lipid-rich regions, such as tissue, organs, cells, and so forth, are described herein. In various embodiments, the system includes a treatment device and a controller for controlling a treatment process. The controller is configured to detect and compensate for an interruption in the treatment process.
Managing Patient Body Temperature Using Endovascular Heat Exchange in Combination With Body Surface Heat Exchange
The present disclosure includes devices, systems and related methods useable for controlling a patient's body temperature by endovascular heat exchange as well as body surface heat exchange.
DERMATOLOGICAL TREATMENTS AND SYSTEMS EMPLOYING COOLING, TOPICALS, AND/OR ABRASION
Dermatological treatments and systems employing cooling, topicals, and/or abrasion are disclosed herein. The system can include a cold plate and a suspension assembly tip. The suspension assembly tip can be selectively coupleable to the cold plate. The suspension assembly tip can include a suspension tip and a suspension. The suspension tip can include a contact surface that can be contacted onto a patient's skin to provide a treatment. The suspension can couple to both the cold plate and to the suspension tip. The suspension can be thermally conductive so as to closely thermally couple the suspension tip to the cold plate, or the suspension tip can have a low thermal conductivity so as to not closely thermally coupled the suspension tip to the cold plate.
Systems and methods for temperature-contrast therapy
In one example embodiment, a system for stimulating tissue with the application of temperature-regulated fluid and negative pressure comprises a negative-pressure source adapted to provide negative pressure to a dressing. The system may further comprise a thermoelectric module thermally coupled to a first heat exchange chamber and a second heat exchange chamber and adapted to transfer heat between said heat exchange chambers. The thermoelectric module can be further adapted to maintain a temperature-regulated fluid fluidly coupled to the first heat exchange chamber and the dressing within a predetermined temperature range by adding heat to and extracting heat from the temperature-regulated fluid as it passes through the first heat exchange chamber.
