Appendage Cooling and Heating System and Method of Use
20220218519 · 2022-07-14 · ·

An appendage cooling and heating system has a body with an outer layer, an inner layer, and an interstitial space for containing a thermo-regulator material. The inner layer and the outer layer are nested to form a joint. An appendage opening is formed in the appendage cooling and heating system to receive an appendage of the user. The joint forms an interlocking seal between the outer layer and the inner layer to contain the thermo-regulator material within the interstitial space.

An equine cryotherapy overleg device that encircles the lower limb of a subject horse and provides cryotherapy to the subject horse. The one-piece device includes upper and lower fasteners, a pastern area that will hold ice and ice water and a vertical zipper. The arrangement of the hoof cover, and hoof slipper allow for free movement of the subject horse and for a thermal fluid to contain ice and prevent the ice from migrating under the subject horse hoof.

Safety closure for a hot-water bottle

A multi-part safety closure for a hot-water bottle includes at least one closure part (4) having an external screw thread (12) for screwing into an internal screw thread of a hot-water bottle and having a first force transmission element (6) for transmitting force for screwing and unscrewing the closure part (4) into and out of, respectively, the internal screw thread of the hot-water bottle (14) to seal the bottle (14) in a water-tight manner; and a manual actuating element (2) having a second force transmission element (8) for transmitting to the closure part (4) the force required to screw and unscrew the closure part (4) into and out of, respectively, the internal screw thread (17). The first force transmission element (6) and the second force transmission element (8) are configured such that the closure part (4) is operably connectable with the manual actuating element (2) in a detachable manner.

Cold Block for Decreasing Neuropathy During Chemotherapy
20200330265 · 2020-10-22 ·

A cold block for cooling an extremity comprises a container defining an internal chamber. A recess is defined in the container. The recess is surrounded, in part, by the internal chamber. The recess is configured to receive an extremity of a person. In use, in one example, the internal chamber of the cold block is filled with fluid, such as water, and frozen. In another example the internal chamber contains a gel that may be cooled or frozen. A patient undergoing chemotherapy may place a respective extremity in one or more cold blocks to decrease neuropathy.

Wearable Thermal Device with Port

A therapeutic garment for cooling an arm of a user includes a vest that is configured to position over a torso of the user. A sleeve is coupled to and extends from a circumference of an armhole of the vest so that the sleeve is configured to insert the arm of the user. The sleeve comprises an inner layer that is coupled to an outer layer so that the inner layer and the outer layer define an interior space. The interior space extends from a cuff of the sleeve to the armhole. An orifice is positioned in the outer layer proximate to the armhole. The orifice is configured to selectively insert a cooling material into the interior space, positioning the cooling material to cool the arm of the user. A closure is coupled to the outer layer proximate to the orifice and is positioned to selectively and sealably close the orifice.

MOUTHPIECE FOR COOLING OF ORAL TISSUE OF A PATIENT
20200069459 · 2020-03-05 ·

A mouthpiece having particular suitability for cooling oral tissue of a patient undergoing chemotherapy or other medical treatments in which reducing oral cavity temperature is beneficial. The mouthpiece includes a cooling medium contained within the top element and the bottom element and able to retain a cooling environment within the mouth, preferably sufficient to reduce capillary blood flow to the patient's mouth. In one embodiment, an external chamber extends from the front of the mouthpiece to house a cooling medium. A bladder is positioned inside the external chamber for storing a solution having a freezing temperature above the freezing point temperature of the cooling medium to assist in cooling the cooling medium. At least one breathing tube extends through the external chamber to permit a patient to breathe through the mouth when the mouthpiece is emplaced within the mouth in the operative close-fitting relationship.
