Electronic device filter door
An electronic device includes persistent storage enclosed within a housing. The housing is configured to protect the persistent storage during shipment of the electronic device by a common carrier. The electronic device may include at least one security door, which when in an open-state, may provide access to at least one of a data port, an aperture, a portion of a display, and/or the persistent storage. When the security door is in a closed-state and possibly locked, the persistent storage may be protected from environmental factors, such as dirt, weather, and tampering. In some embodiments, the aperture may enable airflow though the housing and may be fitted with a filter to remove debris from air that circulates into the housing.
DISK DEVICE
According to one embodiment, a disk device includes rotatable magnetic disks, a first actuator assembly rotatably supported on a pivot through a first bearing unit, a second actuator assembly rotatably supported on the pivot through a second bearing unit and provided side by side with the first actuator assembly in an axial direction of the pivot, and a filter unit provided between the magnetic disks and the first and second actuator assemblies. The filter unit includes a holder including a shielding portion facing a boundary portion between the first actuator assembly and the second actuator assembly and a ventilation opening provided at a position spaced apart from the boundary portion in the axial direction, and a filter held by the holder and facing the ventilation opening.
Adsorbent breather for enclosure protection
An adsorbent breather assembly for filtering contaminants such as particulars and vapor phase contaminants, e.g. volatile organic compounds, for use with electronic devices can include a blocking region adjacent to the adsorbent filter layer to improve filtering performance.
Hermetic terminal for HDD device and hard disk device
A hermetic terminal for a hard disk device (HDD device) that has an excellent gas barrier property and can be assembled in a small number of man-hours, and a hard disk device are provided. The hermetic terminal for an HDD device includes a metal eyelet, insulating glass which seals the metal eyelet on a side of an inner diameter of the metal eyelet, and a lead sealed by the insulating glass to pass therethrough. The lead includes a contact made of a conductive elastic material.
FACEPLATES WITH FILTERS
Examples herein relate to faceplates with filters. In some examples, an apparatus can include a faceplate, where the faceplate includes a plurality of perforations through a thickness of the faceplate, a filter attached to the faceplate, and a magnet to generate a magnetic attraction force between the faceplate and the filter such that the filter is magnetically attached to the faceplate.
RECIRCULATION FILTER FOR AN ENCLOSURE
The technology disclosed herein relates to filter assemblies and methods of making filter assemblies. One filter assembly has a first sheet of filter media having a first perimeter region and a second sheet of filter media having a second perimeter region. The first perimeter region and the second perimeter region are bonded in a rim region. A plurality of adsorbent beads are disposed between the first sheet of filter media and the second sheet of filter media, and a substantial portion of the plurality of adsorbent beads are unbonded. Filtration, filter characterization, and methods and apparatuses therefor
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to apparatuses and methods involving filters and detection of operation thereof. As may be consistent with one or more embodiments, an apparatus includes a fixture having mechanical components that hold a filter. Gas flow componentry operates with the fixture to eject particles from the filter by subjecting the filter to gas flow. A flow metering circuit meters the gas flow, and a particulate counter detects the ejected particles.
Magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus and method for manufacturing the same
According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus includes irreversible adsorbing materials in a sealed housing for the magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus.
