The ECU is configured to determine a baseline route having a first section and a second section. The ECU is configured to determine a first energy source of the first section and a second energy source of the second section. The ECU is configured to determine a first cost associated with incorporating the first energy source and a second cost associated with incorporating the second energy source. The ECU is also configured to determine the recommended route based on the first cost and the second cost. The system also includes an output unit configured to output the recommended route.

Autonomy first route optimization for autonomous vehicles

Embodiments herein can determine an optimal route for an autonomous electric vehicle. The system may score viable routes between the start and end locations of a trip using a numeric or other scale that denotes how viable the route is for autonomy. The score is adjusted using a variety of factors where a learning process leverages both offline and online data. The scored routes are not based simply on the shortest distance between the start and end points but determine the best route based on the driving context for the vehicle and the user.

The potential location may be determined based upon a height of a portion of an autonomous vehicle and the respective curb height of the sidewalk section within the threshold distance. The authorization may confirm the potential location for pick-up or drop-off.

The networked system also causes presentation of one or more issue icons on the user device, whereby each issue icon represents a different type of issue to be reported. A selection of an issue icon from the one or more issue icons is received by the networked system. In response to receiving the selection of the issue icon, the networked system infers a location associated with the issue. The networked system updates a database with the issue and the inferred location. In some embodiments, the database is updated after the inferred location or the issue is verified.

The method includes receiving, by the server, status information from the computer of the CU. The method includes sending to the computer of the CU instructions to make a reservation for the CU. The reservation is for a user account that has requested a desire to charge the battery of the electric vehicle of the user at the CU or another CU. The method includes sending, by the server, a confirmation for the reservation to the user account. The confirmation is viewable via a device having access to the server via the user account. The method includes sending, by the server, a data regarding a time of availability of the CU to the user account for the reservation. The computer of the CU is configured to display a visual indicator regarding the reservation of the CU.
