Devices and methods for comparing and selecting alternative navigation routes
Devices, methods, and machine-readable media to facilitate intuitive comparison and selection of calculated navigation routes are disclosed. An electronic device for navigation includes a touch-sensitive screen and a processing module for displaying a map, calculating a number or navigation routes simultaneously on the touch-sensitive screen, and receiving a selection of a route. Callouts, or markers for presenting key information about each route, are also displayed discretely on the map. Navigation tiles including key route information and route pictorials can also be created and displayed for each calculated route.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTING IMPROVED ROUTES FOR FULFILLING TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS
The disclosed computer-implemented method may include (i) receiving, by a dynamic transportation matching system, a request for transportation between initial waypoints, (ii) calculating, by the dynamic transportation matching system, a value metric for an initial driving route between the initial waypoints (iii) calculating a value metric for a walk-enabled driving route that comprises at least one alternate waypoint that is within a predetermined walking range of one of the initial waypoints, and (iv) improving, by the dynamic transportation matching system, a value of fulfilling the request for transportation by determining that a difference between the value metric of the walk-enabled driving route and the value metric of the initial driving route satisfies a walking-value threshold and selecting, based on the determination that the difference satisfies the walking-value threshold, the walk-enabled driving route for fulfilling the request for transportation. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

A device has a touch screen display configured to display a map application, which is configured to separately display a list of bookmarked locations, a list of recent queries, and a list of contacts. In response to detecting a finger gesture on an input icon associated with a search term input area, the map application displays at least one of the list of bookmarked locations, the list of recent queries, and the list of contacts. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a bookmarked location, an area corresponding to the bookmarked location is displayed on a digital map. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a recent query, one or more results corresponding to the recent query are displayed on a digital map. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a contact, an area associated with the contact is displayed on a digital map.

Guided Navigation for Personal Transport Devices
A method for providing guided navigation for personal transport devices is described. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a list of predetermined destinations associated with a geographic area, projecting directions to one or more of the destinations on a ground surface located in front of a personal transport device, and providing an option to a user of the personal transport device to select between at least two different destinations. A direction associated with each destination of the at least two destinations may be projected on the ground surface located in front of the personal transport device. The method also includes receiving an input from the user indicating a selection of one of the at least two different destinations and projecting directions to the selected destination on the ground surface located in front of the personal transport device to guide the user to the selected destination.
Method for manufacturing single-grained nanowire and method for manufacturing semiconductor device employing same single-grained nanowire
A method of manufacturing a semiconductor nanowire semiconductor device is described. The method includes forming an amorphous channel material layer on a substrate, patterning the channel material layer to form semiconductor nanowires extending in a lateral direction on the substrate, and forming a cover layer covering an upper of the semiconductor nanowire. The cover layer and the nanowire are patterned to form a trench exposing a side surface of an one end of the semiconductor nanowire and a catalyst material layer is formed in contact with a side surface of the semiconductor nanowire, and metal induced crystallization (MIC) by heat treatment is performed to crystallize the semiconductor nanowire in a length direction of the nanowire from the one end of the semiconductor nanowire in contact with the catalyst material.
