Multiple dose device and method
A multiple dose syringe has a first valve defining a first valve opening pressure and a second valve defining a second valve opening pressure. A storage chamber in fluid communication with the second valve stores multiple doses of a substance therein and includes an outlet for dispensing multiple doses of the stored substance therethrough. A compression surface is movable between first and second positions and defines a compression chamber between the compression surface and the first valve. Movement of the compression surface in a direction from the first position toward the second position dispenses substance in the compression chamber through the first valve and out of the syringe. Movement of the compression surface in a direction from the second position toward the first position causes substance to flow from the storage chamber through the second valve and into the compression chamber.
Systems and Methods for Automated In-Line Plunger Depth Measurement
An automated inspection system includes a sensor system that includes a sensor and is configured to generate a plurality of syringe scans by scanning each of a plurality of syringes. Each of the plurality of syringe scans is indicative of distance relative to the sensor. The automated inspection system also includes one or more processors configured to, for each of the plurality of syringes, analyze the respective syringe scan to determine (i) a first distance to a first portion (e.g., flange) of the syringe and (ii) a second distance to a second portion (e.g., plunger) of the syringe, and calculate a distance between the first and second portions based on the first distance and the second distance.
Multiple Dosage Injector with Rotating Screw Dosage System
A dispensing mechanism for delivering a dosage of medicament including a housing having a proximal-distal axis; a plunger rod having a screw thread and configured to advance along the proximal-distal axis relative to the housing; a user-operable push button moveable along the proximal-distal axis relative to the housing; a twist driver threadably engaged with the push button such that movement of the push button towards the distal end of the housing causes rotation of the twist driver about the proximal-distal axis; and a driver engaged with the twist driver such that rotation of the twist driver causes rotation of the driver, the driver also engaged with a portion of the plunger rod such that rotation of the driver causes rotation of the plunger rod, advancing the plunger rod along the proximal-distal axis relative to the housing.
Syringe Assembly & Method for Accurate Dosing
A method and apparatus for controlling and visually, audibly, and tactilely communicating the administration of discrete unit doses of material dispensed from a syringe through use of a modified plunger having a geometric profile corresponding to a unit dose. This profile engages with the syringe barrel in a manner that creates noise and vibration as each unit dose is administered. The profile may take the form of peaks and valleys or teeth. Alternatively, the plunger profile may be threaded and may include a channel along the plunger's longitudinal axis.
VOLUMETRIC MEASUREMENT AND REGULATION DEVICE INCORPORATED IN A TIME-PRESSURE DISPENSER
A device for measuring and regulating a volume of a fluid dispensed by a time-pressure dispenser, the device comprising: an adaptor for releasably coupling a syringe to the device, the syringe containing a fluid to be dispensed; a probe configured to be coupled with a piston of the syringe, the piston being operative to apply a pressure for ejecting the fluid from the syringe upon the application of an air pressure to the piston; and a displacement detector operative in use to determine a position of the probe so as to determine a position of the piston when dispensing the fluid, whereby to regulate the volume of the fluid dispensed from the syringe.
System for dosing and dispensing medication
A system for medication delivery comprises a package containing a medication and a dosing device for delivering a dose of the medication, formulated as a multiparticulate, microspheres, a powder or a liquid. The package comprises a bottle, a bottle insert that covers a bottle opening and includes a dispense nozzle. The dispense nozzle is sealed using a valve that opens when the dosing device is engaged with the bottle. A closure covers the bottle insert and closes the bottle. The dosing device, similar to an oral syringe, comprises a barrel with a valve at a distal end of the barrel, a plunger and a dose control clip for attachment to the plunger. After the dosing device is connected to, the valve of the dispense nozzle, withdrawal of the plunger causes the dosing device to receive the dose of the medication, a user pushes the plunger which pushes the medication through the valve of the barrel and into a patient's mouth.
BIOMATERIAL DISPENSING DEVICE
A device for dispensing biomaterial includes a handle configured to receive a syringe, the syringe including a biomaterial and a threaded plunger, and an engagement pin retained within the handle and slidable between a first position and a second position. The engagement pin is configured to engage the threaded plunger in the first position, the engagement pin is further configured to disengage from the threaded plunger in the second position.
Multichannel syringe for use with a metering device
A multichannel syringe for use with a metering device having a barrel holding apparatus of a syringe barrel and an axially movable holding apparatus of a syringe plunger 5 comprising: a plunger unit having a drive rod comprising the plunger holding apparatus, a crossmember on the lower end of the drive rod, and a plurality of syringe plungers projecting downward and parallel to the drive rod, a barrel unit comprising a support and rows of syringe barrels arranged in a parallel 10 manner, protruding downwards from the support, and having lower and upper syringe openings, and a running region, wherein each syringe plunger engages a syringe barrel through, an upper syringe opening and is sealingly guided in the running region, and the barrel holding apparatus is above the syringe barrel and is connected to the support.
