System for measuring crimped container seams
Disclosed is an automated system for measuring seam parameters of a crimped closure can and for determining seam tightness using the measured parameters. The system includes an image recording device with a magnifying lens which receives an image of a cross-sectioned seam. The automated system detects voids in the seam and compares the characteristics of those voids against predetermined standards to identify improperly formed seams and alert an operator.
Inspection device and production management method
An inspection device (1) includes a light source (10) projecting excitation light to an inner surface of a container (20); an imager (11) capturing a fluorescence image of fluorescence emitted from a foreign substance in response to the excitation light projected; and a detector (13) detecting the foreign substance adhering to the inner surface of the container from the fluorescence image captured by the imager. The foreign substance contains a material emitting fluorescence in response to the excitation light projected to the material. The detector includes a calculator (14) calculating an average brightness value in an inspection target region, and an adjuster (15) adjusting an image-capturing condition where the fluorescence image is captured such that the average brightness value falls within a preset range.
APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING CONTAINERS, IN PARTICULAR CANS
A device for inspecting containers which have an opening includes a transport device which transports the objects along a configured transport path. The device includes a monitoring device which is configured to monitor at least one region of an inner wall of the container through the opening. The monitoring device is configured to capture spatially resolved images, and has a lighting device configured to illuminate at least one region of the inner wall, is arranged between the monitoring device and the container.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A COVER WITH AN ABNORMAL CONDITION
This invention discloses a system and method for detecting a cover with an abnormal condition. The system includes a transport track for defining a sliding direction of at least one cover with a detection surface. The transport track has a detection area and a cover removal area, and includes a pair of bottom rails and a pair of side rails. The pair of bottom rails support the cover at an inclination angle so that the cover slides on the pair of bottom rails. The cover is located between the pair of side rails, and the sliding direction of the cover is defined by the pair of side rails. The detection area is used for detecting the detection surface of the cover, and the cover removal area has an outlet for removing a cover with an abnormal condition determined based on a detection result of the detection surface thereof.
CAN INNER SURFACE-COATING APPARATUS
Provided is a can inner surface-coating apparatus with which inspection of bottomed cylinders can be favorably performed in parallel without being affected by the coating process. In the can inner surface-coating apparatus, inspection cameras to be used for inspection following coating of the inner surface of a bottomed cylinder that will become the body of a can or bottle-shaped can are disposed above spray devices that are used for coating the inner surface of bottomed cylinders. Moreover, the coating area including the spray devices and the inspection area including the inspection cameras are covered with a cover. By supplying air inside the cover from the upper part (air supply port) of the inspection area and discharging the air out of the cover from the lower part (coating mist collection duct) of the coating area, an air flow is formed from the upper part of the inspection area to the lower part of the coating area.
Dual Laser Closure Scan and Method of Using the Same
A system of measuring a top surface of a closure to determine if the closure is properly affixed to a container. Multiple paths of measurements may be collected and analyzed. In various analysis paradigms, measurements on a given path are separated into different sets, such as a leading set that generally includes the first third of measurements, a trailing set that includes the trailing set of measurements, and a middle set that includes the middle third of measurements. Several methods of analysis may be based on a presumption that a properly affixed closure is symmetrical or near symmetrical.
Method and device for detecting defects in the closure of encapsulated vials
A method and device detect defects in the closure of encapsulated vials. The method includes scanning a profile of the capsule and of the vial using a profilometer, thus obtaining a point cloud. From the point cloud obtained, calculating at least one of the following parameters: diameter or radius of the closure circumference of the capsule; angle of intersection between the lower skirt and the side of the capsule; length of the lower skirt; and/or a distance from the end of the lower skirt to the neck of the vial. The method determines whether any of the parameters calculated in the previous step exceeds a predetermined value. The device detecting defects in the closure of encapsulated vials includes a profilometer configured to scan a profile of the capsule and of the vial and a control device configured to execute the method.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR LABEL COMPENSATION DURING SPECIMEN CHARACTERIZATION
A method of characterizing a serum and plasma portion of a specimen in regions occluded by one or more labels. The characterization method may be used to provide input to an HILN (H, I, and/or L, or N) detection method. The characterization method includes capturing one or more images of a labeled specimen container including a serum or plasma portion from multiple viewpoints, processing the one or more images to provide segmentation data including identification of a label-containing region, determining a closest label match of the label-containing region to a reference label configuration selected from a reference label configuration database, and generating a combined representation based on the segmentation information and the closest label match. Using the combined representation allows for compensation of the light blocking effects of the label-containing region. Quality check modules and testing apparatus and adapted to carry out the method are described, as are other aspects.
Device for the continuous quality control of containers
A continuous quality control device for containers in a roto-revolutionary movement consists of making said containers pass in front of lighting means, capturing by at least one single sequential image capturing device each of said containers in rotation, obtaining an optical reconstruction of said containers and controlling their quality according to said optical reconstruction, characterised in that said lighting means is equipped with stroboscopic control means that allows the illumination of said containers in counterphase from at least two different angles of incidence and the capturing of at least two overlapping images in the same angular rotation position of said container in its own housing with respect to said image capturing device.
Method and device for treating and monitoring the quality of objects comprising metal materials
A method and a device for treating and monitoring objects incorporating a metal material. The objects are treated with a treatment fluid in one or more treatment zone(s) and the treatment fluid is then removed from and/or dried on the objects. To provide constant quality monitoring, at least one portion of at least one object respectively is optically detected and calorimetrically evaluated. In this manner, discoloration of metal materials caused by the treatment can be promptly detected.
