ABSORBENT BIOPHOTONIC FIBER SYSTEM
The present technology generally relates to an absorbent biophotonic fiber system and to articles comprising the absorbent biophotonic fiber system as well as to the potential uses thereof, such as, for example, in wound treatment.
MEDICAL DRESSING MATERIAL HAVING CHITOSAN FABRIC SPONGE STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A medical dressing material having a chitosan fabric sponge structure according to the present disclosure has a structure in which chitosan fibers derived from a chitosan fabric are located on a porous structure formed using freeze-drying. Therefore, the medical dressing material has an excellent hemostatic effect and exudate-absorbing ability while exhibiting a strong tensile force, is convenient to use, and is capable of being molded into various forms so as to be widely used for wounds by an edged thing, scalds, pressure ulcers, diabetes-related foot disorders, or various surgical areas in various body tissue parts such as the spine, brain, eye, ear, nose, and cervix.
Combination SIS and vacuum bandage and method
A wound care bandage for treating a wound is provided. The bandage includes an SIS layer to be placed on the wound surface and a cover to be placed over the wound. The bandage further includes a structure to provide a vacuum space. A method for promoting wound healing is further provided. The method includes applying the above-mentioned wound care bandage to the wound and creating a vacuum in the vacuum space to draw blood controllably from the wound into the SIS layer.
Apparatus for aspirating, irrigating and cleansing wounds
An apparatus for cleansing wounds in which irrigant fluid from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. microfiltration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.
VARIABLE DENSITY DRESSING
A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure, methods of manufacturing the dressing, and methods of using the dressing are described. The dressing includes a debriding manifold having a plurality of first regions with a first density, and a plurality of second regions with a second density less than the first density. The dressing can include a cover configured to be disposed over the debriding manifold. The cover includes a perimeter extending beyond the debriding manifold.
SELF CONTAINED WOUND DRESSING WITH MICROPUMP
A composite wound dressing apparatus promotes healing of a wound via the use of a micropump system housed within or above a wound dressing member. The micropump system includes a miniature pump that applies a subatmospheric pressure to the wound to effectively draw wound fluid or exudate away from the wound bed without the need for a cumbersome external vacuum source. Hence, the wound dressing and micropump system is portable which allows the patient mobility that is unavailable when an external vacuum source is used. The patient does not need to be constrained for any period of time while exudate is being removed from the wound.
Apparatus for aspirating, irrigating and cleansing wounds

The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. microfiltration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.
