The bottom plate and the wall element having a common axis and the adaptor is provided with a filter connection arrangement for removably connecting a filter on the end surface of the bottom plate of the adaptor.

Chromatography columns

A method of making and loading a chromatography column includes selecting a column tube having an appropriate elasticity, and inner diameter and length, selecting appropriately sized flow distributors, a second flow distributor having a diameter that is larger than the inner diameter of the tube, permanently securing a first flow distributor to a first end of the tube, loading packing medium into the tube, inserting the second flow distributor into a second end of the tube to drive the second flow distributor into the tube to form a sealed chamber within the tube, adjusting the longitudinal position of the second flow distributor within the tube by applying a force to the second flow distributor until it reaches a desired location within the tube, and/or forcing liquid into the chamber to move the second flow distributor and permanently securing the properly positioned second flow distributor within the tube.

Chromatography column distribution system

A chromatography column distribution system includes a set of first bed support ribs extending radially from an inner, first radial position near the center of the plate to an outer radial position nearer to the periphery of the plate and at least one set of intermediate bed support ribs starting at an intermediate radial position and extending to an outer radial position nearer to the periphery of the plate. Channels are formed between adjacent bed support ribs. The desired local effective channel height varies in accordance with a predetermined formula from the first radial position to the outer radial position. The transverse cross-sectional areas of the ribs or the channels are adapted such that the actual local effective channel height is within 15% of the desired local effective channel height over portions of the distribution system situated between the first radial position and the outer radial position. The length of the portions correspond to at least 80% of the distance between the first and outer radial position and the outer radial position.

Chromatography column frame and method of conducting maintenance on and packing of a chromatography column

The invention relates to a chromatography column frame comprising at least two legs, a support arrangement connected to said at least two legs, and a holder means connected to said support arrangement. Said holder means is arranged to releasably hold an adaptor rod of a chromatography column, so that the adaptor rod is prevented to move in a horizontal direction and so the adaptor rod is allowed to move in a vertical direction. The invention also relates to method of conducting maintenance on and packing of a chromatography column.

The present invention relates to axial flow chromatography columns, methods for separating one or more analytes in a liquid by the use of such columns, and systems employing such columns. The column comprises a first port and a second port, the first port and said second port being at essentially the same level or elevation above the level of the bed space on the chromatography column.

NOVEL CONCEPT FOR COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS FOR A SIMULATED MOVING BED SEPARATION PROCESS USING N-COLUMNS IN SERIES

The present invention describes a device for supplying or collecting from a column forming part of an assembly of columns in series, for use in a simulated moving bed separation process. The present device can be used to very substantially reduce the non-selective volumes in each column.

THERMAL DESORBER FOR GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY SAMPLE INTRODUCTION WITH IMPROVED COMPOUND RECOVERY AND ENHANCED MATRIX MANAGEMENT
20180299415 · 2018-10-18 ·

A system to thermally desorb a sample into a multi-column GC or GCMS system that can use both the desorption system and GC system for optimizing injection rates, matrix management (e.g., water elimination), optimizing recovery of a specific range of chemicals, and system cleanup is described. Reversing the flow through a first column inside the GC can facilitate the elimination of excess, condensed water as well as heavy chemicals that could otherwise affect the operation and background of the GC. The elimination of flow through both the thermal desorber and a first column in the GC during sample preheat can accommodate the pre-expansion of the sample that could otherwise result in pre-release to the active carrier gas flow in other systems. Transfer lines and rotary valves can be avoided, improving system performance and longevity, with simple maintenance achieved by replacing a desorption liner and the first GC column.
