Adapter housing and connecting device for chromatography
10527215 · 2020-01-07 · ·

An adapter housing is described that can be used for high performance liquid chromatography, which can be releasably connected to a socket unit. The adapter housing includes a bore which passes through the adapter housing and a pre-column which can be arranged in the bore to protect the separation column from contaminants and/or to concentrate the fluid to be analyzed. A sealing element seals the adapter housing in relation to the socket unit at the end-face wall of a pilot bore.

NOVEL MULTIMODAL OSCILLATORY CHROMATOGRAPHIC PURIFICATION SYSTEM
20190374876 · 2019-12-12 ·

The present invention comprises a novel multimodal chromatography sequence of short length alternating adsorption and size exclusion media operating with gradient elution. The novel multimodal chromatography in an oscillating series utilizes the alternating solvent exchange media to reposition the active region of separation back in phase with the target solutes. Each solvent exchange column bed length in the sequence is designed to achieve a subtle decrease or increase in the solvent gradient (or salt gradient) concentration associated with the two solutes of interest which results in an extension of the active separation or increasing differences in solute velocity for two solutes of interest. The novel oscillatory chromatographic system demonstrates much improved separation capability as shown by a one dimensional model.

Parallel assembly of chromatography column modules
11911711 · 2024-02-27 · ·

A parallel assembly of chromatography column modules, the assembly having one common assembly inlet and one common assembly outlet, each column module comprising a bed space filled with chromatography medium and each column module comprises integrated fluid conduits which when the column module is connected with other column modules are adapted to connect the bed space of the column module with the assembly inlet and the assembly outlet, wherein the total length and/or volume of the fluid conduit from the assembly inlet to one bed space together with the length and/or volume of the fluid conduit from the same bed space to the assembly outlet is substantially the same for all bed spaces and modules installed in the parallel assembly.

COMPACT GAS ANALYSIS DEVICE AND METHOD
20190331660 · 2019-10-31 ·

A gas analysis device suited for e.g. medical analysis of exhaled breath from a subject. A gas inlet receives a gas sample to a flow path for guiding the gas sample to two or more gas separators, e.g. gas chromatography columns, with respective molecule selectivity properties which are different. One or more detectors, each with a sensor, are arranged to generate respective responses to outputs from the two or more gas separators. A communication module generate output data in response to the respective responses from the one or more detectors, e.g. data indicative of selected molecules in the gas sample, e.g. data indicative of one or more diseases identified as a result of identified biomarkers in the gas sample. The device is suitable as a compact device, e.g. a handheld breath analysis device, since the use of a plurality of gas separators allows use of very molecule specific gas separators which can be implemented with a small size. E.g. a flow path with several parallel paths each comprising one or more gas separator may be used.

Liquid chromatography conduit assemblies having high pressure seals

Described is a tubing assembly which includes a permanently deformable outer tube, an intermediate tube and an inner tube. A radial seal is provided by a uniform radial crimp having a non-zero longitudinal length at a longitudinal location on the tubing assembly. In some embodiments one or both ends of the assembly have a uniform radial crimp and are polished so that the ends of two or more of the tubes are substantially flush with each other to thereby block the passage of fluids between the ends of the tubes. In other embodiments the uniform radial crimps are at other longitudinal locations where a high pressure seal is desired. The longitudinal length and the depth of each uniform radial crimp can be formed to accommodate the requirements of a particular application so that leakage along the tubing assembly is prevented and void volume is reduced or eliminated.

TEMPERATURE-ASSISTED ON-COLUMN FOCUSING

A method comprising: introducing a sample volume into an inlet end of a liquid chromatography column, wherein the liquid chromatography column includes a focusing segment proximal to the inlet end of the liquid chromatography column and a separation segment proximal to an elute outlet of the liquid chromatography column; maintaining only the focusing segment at a first temperature as the sample is introduced into the focusing segment; and subsequently heating the focusing segment to a second temperature that is higher than the first temperature after the entire sample volume has been introduced into the focusing segment.

Clamp for chromatography columns
10422777 · 2019-09-24 · ·

A clamp for chromatography columns has a first seal with a first opening a movable seal with a second opening and a movable coupler. The movable coupler has first and second coupler seals with communicating third and fourth openings. The clamp is arranged for pressing a first chromatography column between the first seal and the first coupler seal and for pressing a second chromatography column between the movable seal and the second coupler seal, such that the first opening fluidly communicates with the second opening through the first chromatography column, the third and fourth openings and the second chromatography column.

ESTABLISHING FLUIDIC CONNECTIONS BETWEEN CHROMATOGRAPHY COMPONENTS

A clamp assembly includes a rail configured to receive a first fluidic assembly, and a carriage slidably mounted to the rail and configured to receive a second fluidic assembly. The carriage is operable to establish a first fluid tight seal between the first fluidic assembly and a chromatography column received within the claim assembly, and to establish a second fluid tight seal between the second fluidic assembly and the chromatography column.
