THERMAL ANALYSIS APPARATUS
A configuration is provided in which outside air is taken as a carrier gas into a carrier gas flow path (A, B). A CO.sub.2 sensor (specific gas detection sensor) (71) for detecting a CO.sub.2 gas desorbed from a sample is installed in a component gas detector (70). A CO.sub.2 sensor (air-containing specific gas detection sensor) (54) for detecting a CO.sub.2 gas contained in air taken into the carrier gas flow path by a blower fan (51) is installed separately. A CO.sub.2 gas detection amount detected by the air-containing specific gas detection sensor (54) is subtracted from a CO.sub.2 gas detection amount detected by the specific gas detection sensor (71) to calculate a detection amount of the CO.sub.2 gas desorbed from the sample.

Laboratory on location test system for accreditation of breathing air quality
A breathing air laboratory on location gas sample test and data collecting system and method, at a remote breathing air provider's facility, that includes an air compressor, for remotely testing, collecting, and monitoring the quality and purity of the breathing air being produced at the provider's facility, that allows an accredited independent monitoring, testing, and analyzing facility to provide breathing air validation and certification to a cloud-based air quality test and analysis account belonging to the breathing air provider facility at any time. The system includes redundant gas sample air sensors for O2 and CO to ensure quality and accuracy in the breathing air test and data collection, and analysis and a canary gas sample test module securely mounted in a laboratory chassis, but manually swappable, to ensure credibility and accuracy of the sensors being used to test gas/air samples.
METHOD FOR CHARACTERIZING AN ANALYTE PRESENT IN A GAS SAMPLE CONTAINING AT LEAST ONE PARASITIC CHEMICAL SPECIES
A method for characterizing an analyte A present in a gas sample using an electronic nose including M sensitive site, a parasitic chemical species P being present in the gas sample, the method include: a phase 100 of acquiring N first signatures, where N>1, of the gas samples containing the analyte A and the parasitic species P, the gas samples exhibiting deviations ?c.sub.P(n) which differ from one gas sample to the next; a phase 200 of solving an optimization problem so as to obtain N corrected signatures, characterising the analyte A present in the N gas samples, from the N first signatures, by optimizing to objective functions.
Method and apparatus for reducing gas consumption in continuous flow analytical instruments
A gas transport system includes at least one chemical reactor having at least one inlet and at least one gas outlet and at least one sample introduction unit for delivering the sample into the chemical reactor. The gas transport system at least one carrier gas line fluidly coupled to the chemical reactor inlet for introducing into the chemical reactor carrier gas from a carrier gas source, at least one gas outlet line from the chemical reactor gas outlet, and at least one gas recycling line connected to the gas outlet and/or the gas outlet line by a first gas line junction that is arranged between the chemical reactor and a downstream detection unit on the gas outlet line. The gas transport system is adapted to allow recycling of at least a portion of gas emerging from the chemical reactor outlet back to the chemical reactor via the gas recycling line.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ANALYZING FLUID INCLUSIONS
A method for detecting and quantifying elemental mercury vapor in one or more solid sample. The method being particularly suitable for detecting and quantifying elemental mercury vapor in solid samples obtained from a petroleum reservoir by subjecting the solid samples to conditions that cause the release of one or more volatile compound therefrom including elemental mercury vapor, using a carrier gas to transport the released one or more volatile compound into a first trap to capture one or more volatile compound other than the elemental mercury vapor, and finally into an additional trap downstream of the first trap to capture the elemental mercury vapor for analysis and quantification.
Novel Rotaxane-Type Probe For Molecular Imaging
The invention provides a novel method for synthesizing hyperpolarized xenon-129 (HP Xe) biosensors by using pseudo-rotaxane structures of gamma-cyclodextrin. These supramolecular complexes form novel ternary structures in the presence of HP Xe which can be detected via .sup.129Xe MR spectroscopy and imaging techniques. The rotaxane-type complex can be tagged with an affinity label for detecting a target in a biological subject.
