A system and method of detecting gas leakage along an underground pipeline system accurately determines the presence of a gas leak while minimizing cost and preserving energy. The system includes at least one underground pipeline with a plurality of stack vents, a plurality of sensor units, and at least one remote server. Each sensor unit is mounted within a stack vent. The method begins by tracking a current time with each sensor unit. A gas-concentration reading with at least one specific unit is captured and then communicated along with a sensor location and a sensor identification to the remote server and recorded with the remote server. The tracking, capturing, and communicating of the gas-concentration reading is repeated so that actual gas-concentration data is compiled and compared to a baseline gas-concentration data or a defined gas-concentration threshold. A leak notification for a gas leak is then sent with the remote server.

System and method for predictively sensing harmful environmental conditions based on location and historical user data

A sensor measures an environmental factor in an ambient environment immediately surrounding an information handling system. A processor determines that the information handling system is in a first location, provides a first sampling frequency of the sensor based upon the first location, determines that the information handling system is in a second location, and provides a second sampling frequency of the sensor based upon the second location. The first sampling frequency is different from the second sampling frequency.

Gas monitoring and alarm systems and methods

A gas monitoring and alarm system comprises a master monitor and at least one remote monitor. The master monitor is coupled to a master sensor that senses a concentration of a gas in a first area and sends data to the master monitor. The at least one remote monitor is communicatively coupled to the master monitor. The least one remote monitor is coupled to a remote sensor, which senses a concentration of gas in a second area. The at least one remote monitor receives data about the concentration of the gas in the second area from the remote sensor, and sends the data to the master monitor. The master monitor receives the data and triggers a first alarm status when the concentration of gas in at least one of the first area and the second area exceeds a first predefined alarm threshold.

According to the method, either CO2-free air or pure nitrogen N2 is pumped into the cooling circuit selectively depending on system parameters. To this end, the method ensures that the air injection rate is high enough that, under normal conditions, the hydrogen concentration in the tank and in the riser remains below 2% H2. On air injection, the oxygen O2 (>2 ppm) in the cooling water reacts with the copper in the cooling ducts and a layer of copper oxide forms on the inner walls of said ducts. No reaction is triggered by the injection of nitrogen N2. The CO2 content in the injection air and, at the same time, also the H2 content in the exhaust air are continuously measured and monitored, and an alarm is triggered if adjustable limit values are exceeded. The equipment for performing the method comprises an electronic control unit (65) with an input field and display as a control box, and a pump and a pipe circuit for drawing air in from the riser. The control unit (65) can evaluate all the measured data from the sensors and analysers connected to the pipe and can at least check the CO2 content in the supply air and the H2 content in the riser (13) and display the hydrogen leakage.

Marine emissions detection

A technique facilitates detection of gaseous emissions in a marine environment via a vessel or vessels traversing a region of the marine environment. Environmental data is collected via a detection system on each vessel and communicated to a processing system. The processing system processes various environmental data such as location data, emission detection data, wind data, and/or other data to determine an emissions result. This emissions result is output in a form to facilitate decision-making with respect to potential corrective actions to reduce the gaseous emissions.
