A three-fold tie with a body folded twice by a gatefold, includes: a body of fabric where body part fabric is folded once by a gatefold and folded once more by a gatefold so that both ends overlap; a blade portion of fabric where sword-shaped blade part fabric is folded once by a gatefold so that both ends overlap and fabric part of the overlapped upper end is folded inward once more; and a tail portion of fabric where sword-shaped tail part fabric is folded once by a gatefold so that both ends overlap and fabric part of the overlapped upper end is folded inward once more.

Herein is described an invention comprising a customized bow tie of 2 basic parts: a bow strip and a neck band. The bow strip may be pre-tied or otherwise, and is held in shape by a tubular bow loop, located in the center of the tied bow strip. The neck band portion has an unrestricted path through the bow strip. The neck band is not adjustable. It is customized to the size of wearer and does not employ hook and pile fabric fasteners. The absences of any fasteners, means no need to employ dexterity needed to adjust fasteners and hooks and also eliminates bulk in shirt collar.

The finished article is then placed around the user's neck.

A hand tied, bow of novel two piece construction is disclosed. A first piece is an adjustable neck strap. A second piece is a folded (by hand or button) butterfly bow. A system is provided that enables a wearer to tie a dress tie so that the ends thereof are of optimum length on the first try after a short, one-time practice session. Optimum length is assumed when the tip of large end of the tie is even with the center of the wearers belt buckle. The system necessitates creation of a line of dress ties that, except for the print design on the outer shell, are essentially identical with respect to thickness, width and length. In addition, all ties in the line must employ a dimensionally-stable internal backing fabric, to prevent stretching. Identical series of equally-spaced position markers are provided on each tie in the line so that a wearer can identify a proper starting point for beginning to knot the tie. Markers are embroidered or deposited on a portion of each tie.

An endless neck tie. In one embodiment an endless loop of fabric of varying width includes a relatively narrow segment providing a neckband, and a first blade and a second blade of variable width extending in opposite directions along the loop and away from the neckband. At least a first transition region, between the blades or between the neck band and the blades, is of such narrow width relative to the blade width that the transition region accepts at least a first knot which defines a constricted region of the endless neck tie between the neck band and the blades.
