20220226159 · 2022-07-21 ·

A layered composite for scar treatment and prevention, the layered composite including a backing section; a drug matrix section; and a skin-interfacing section. The drug matrix section may be disposed between the back section and the skin-interfacing section. The drug matrix section may include pirfenidone in an amount of from about 1 to about 20 mg/cm.sup.2. The layered composite may provide greater than about 75% release of the pirfenidone over a period of about 48 to 72 hours. A method for scar treatment and prevention that includes applying a layered composite as described to a burn wound.

Medical dressing

A medical dressing having a geometrical plane of symmetry. A border portion extends along the contour of the pad. A central portion of the dressing has a smaller width perpendicular to the plane of symmetry than the widths of the adjoining portions. The medical dressing comprises a gripping tab which is coplanar with the border portion and which projects outwardly from the border portion. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at a heel of a human body.

REMOVABLE AND REPLACEABLE DRESSING INTERFACE FOR A NEGATIVE-PRESSURE THERAPY SYSTEM

A dressing interface for connecting a negative-pressure source to a dressing may have a coupling member comprising an aperture, a first adhesive region having a first region peel strength, and a second adhesive region having a second region peel strength less than the first region peel strength. The dressing interface may further have a flange coupled to the coupling member, and a conduit housing coupled to the flange and extending through the aperture in the contact layer.

WOUND DRESSING MATERIAL FOR VISUAL INDICATION OF WOUND PROTEASE ACTIVITY

The present disclosure relates generally to wound dressings and reduced-pressure wound dressing apparatuses that detect the presence of proteases in a wound upon application. The wound dressings and the reduced-pressure wound dressing apparatus of the present technology can be a visual indicator of the presence of proteases in a wound; and a visual indicator of the wounds healing status.

Extensible dressings

The present invention generally relates to dressings such as bandages or tapes having improved extensibility and conformability to human skin and joints.

Wound dressing with adhesive margin

A wound dressing comprising: a backing sheet; a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backing sheet; an island of absorbent material having smaller area than the backing sheet and applied onto a central region of the backing sheet so as to leave a margin of adhesive-coated backing sheet around the absorbent material, and an apertured wound facing layer applied over the absorbent material and adhered to the backing sheet around said island by said pressure-sensitive adhesive, wherein the apertured wound facing layer comprises an apertured substrate having a coating of a silicone gel on the wound facing surface thereof, the open area of the apertured wound facing layer is from about 5% to about 75%, and the apertured wound facing layer comprises apertures having an open area of from about 2 mm2 to about 100 mm.sup.2.
