Devices and Methods for Protecting and Offloading Pressure in Casting Neuropathic and Diabetic Wounds of the Foot
A method and device are shown for use in casting for Total Contact Casting for offloading pressure in neuropathic and diabetic wounds or fractures of the appendages such as the human leg or foot. The outer casting material used can be comprised of traditional casting materials. A total foot protection pad underlies the traditional casting materials. It is a one piece moldable system that encompasses the total foot from the Achilles along the lateral and medial foot, covering the plantar surface, the malleoli and folds and extends over the dorsum. The one piece system has adhesive backing on a contact side to facilitate its application and/or forms a total foot protection pad beneath the outer hardened casting material.
SEALSKIN APPLICATION SYSTEM
A system for providing a protective covering for a human on non-human animal comprising a supply of dispensable plastic stretch film having a predetermined thickness and width and a dispenser-applicator for dispensing a predetermined length of film from the supply thereof and applying the predetermined length of the film to the human or non-human animal.
Pair of eye goggles
A pair of eye goggles is provided. The pair of eye goggles includes a nosepiece fittable over a portion of a wearer's face, the nosepiece comprising one or more strands, at least a portion of the nosepiece comprising a phase change material, wherein a shape of the nosepiece changes upon an application of an energy to the phase changing portion to conform to the face; and a pair of eyepieces connected to the nosepiece.
Protective Cover for a Walking Brace, Cast and/or Orthotic Device
The present invention is a weather-resistant cover for a walking brace, cast, and/or orthotic device used on a human leg and foot. This innovative cover includes a sturdy, slip-resistant outer sole for safe mobility. The majority of the protective cover is comprised of a flexible, resilient, and weather-resistant material. In contrast, patches of flexible, thin fabric are present over the regulatory buttons of the walking brace, cast, and/or orthotic device. These patches allow for the fitting of the walking brace, cast, or orthotic device to be adjusted while the cover is in use. A drawstring is present at the top of the cover to ensure the cover is completely weather-resistant. This cover also includes a longitudinal fastener at the rear of the cover to allow the wearer to easily place their leg/foot in the device. This fastener, when closed, secures the wearer's appendage in the cover.
Equine leg cast rocker attachment
A device or structure for fitting on the bottom of an equine leg cast to protect the cast from abrasion and wear, to aid in keeping the cast clean and, in one aspect, to provide a shaped molded rocker bottom that allows the leg cast hoof to rock forward or back, allowing the equine to find a naturally comfortable position. A method of applying the device to an equine leg cast. The device or structure consist, in general, of a solid member having a top face and a bottom face and having malleable straps attached to the solid member and extending from at least two sides of the solid member, which straps are made of material and sized to be capable of being bent or folded upward in a plane perpendicular to the top face of the solid member to attach to an equine leg cast.
Ostomy Pouching System
An ostomy pouching system is described. A baseplate includes a seal adapted to be securely placed on the skin about the perimeter of tissue defining a stoma incised into a patient. An ostomy reservoir forms a sealed space within which discharge can be received and held. A flex layer includes a seal that is airtight, watertight, or both, and which is structurally interposed between at least a portion of two or more of the skin, tissue, stoma, baseplate, and ostomy reservoir. The flex layer includes a resiliently and elastically malleable phase change material. The flex layer is deformable such that at least one portion of the flex layer can transmute the magnitude of a force applied to the flex layer and redirect the force. External forces acting upon at least one of the skin, tissue, stoma, baseplate, and ostomy reservoir are mitigated, transmuted, and isolated by the flex layer.
WEARABLE ASSEMBLY
In one embodiment, a wearable assembly that includes a plurality of components is provided. The components include an eyepiece assembly fittable over a portion of a wearer's face, the eyepiece assembly including one or more strands, at least a portion of the eyepiece assembly including a phase change material, wherein a shape of the eyepiece assembly changes upon an application of an energy to the phase changing portion to one or more of conform and contour to one or more features of the wearer's face; and nosepiece connected to the eyepiece assembly.
COLD THERAPY CAST BOOT
A cast boot and removable integrated cold therapy attachment is provided for promoting healing, recovery and pain relief, following lower limb fracture or surgery. The cast boot has at least one channel for drainage of condensation or liquid from the interior of the cast boot. The cast boot is configured to support a cold therapy attachment. The cold therapy attachment further has one or more perforated holes for drainage of condensation or liquid. The cast boot has adjustable straps for allowing removable and positioning of the cold therapy attachment inside the cast boot.
Pair Of Eye Goggles
A pair of eye goggles is described. A strap can be fit removably around a head. A nosepiece can be fit over the nose. A pair of eyepieces includes a transparent lens and a frame. An airtight and watertight skin interface is adapted to fit securely against the wearer's skin. A flex layer includes a seal that is at least one of airtight and watertight and which is structurally interposed between at least a portion of two or more of the skin, the nosepiece, the eyepieces, the transparent lens, the frame, and the skin interface. The flex layer includes a phase change material that is resiliently and elastically malleable. The flex layer is deformable such that at least one portion can transmute the magnitude of a force applied and can redirect the force in at least one direction. External forces acting are at least one of mitigated, transmuted, and isolated.
Waterproof External Injury Protector
External-injury waterproof protector, of long service life as a product. The structure of the limb-insertion opening enables completely shielding out water to protect an injured area. The protector has a flexible pouch body composed of a waterproofing material, with a mouth at either one or both ends, and an extensible/contractible annular constriction component hermetically and adhesively attached to the one or both pouch-body end(s). The annular constriction component is furnished with a tube portion formed to enable covering a portion of the four human limbs in a watertight state, and a brim portion formed projecting radially outward from a mouth edge of the tube portion. The tube portion favorably is formed at a narrower diameter than that of the other end of the pouch body. The brim portion arcuately slopes gently in a flaring form, lending the mouth of the annular constriction component an arcuate sloping surface.
