Signalling Support for NR Positioning with Aperiodic SRS Configurations
Signalling Support for NR Positioning with Aperiodic SRS ConfigurationsEmbodiments described herein relate to methods and apparatus in networks, and particularly methods, Location Management Functions, base stations and wireless devices for configuring and sending uplink sounding reference signals, UL SRS. 1. A method performed by a Location Management Function, LMF, comprises receiving radio resource information relating to radio resources that can be applied for UL SRS by a wireless device; and providing a notification relating to triggering aperiodic uplink SRS to a base station serving the wireless device.
DETERMINING LOCATION INFORMATION USING CYCLOSPECTRAL DETECTION
A method is disclosed to receive a signal, in a receiver from a transmitter (e.g., over a period of time). The signal propagates from the transmitter to the receiver in a direction of propagation. The receiver may move in a direction of motion relative to the transmitter. The signal includes a cyclic feature. The method may determine a change rate of a Doppler shift of the cyclic feature in the received signal. The method may determine, based on the change rate of the Doppler shift of the cyclic feature, an angle between the direction of motion of the receiver and the direction of propagation, the range between the receiver and the transmitter, and/or the locations of the transmitter and/or receiver.
Distance estimation using signals of different frequencies
A first signal generated from a signal generator may be synchronized with a local clock of a first device at a first time, and sent to a second device, the first signal having a first frequency. A second signal generated from the signal generator may be further synchronized with the local clock of the first device at a second time, the second signal having a second frequency different from the first frequency, and a difference between the second time and the first time being within a predetermined range of a predetermined time difference. The second signal may then be sent to the second device to enable the second device to determine a distance between the first device and the second device based at least in part on a phase difference between the first signal and the second signal.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING POSITION OF TERMINAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method by which a terminal operates in a wireless communication system, according to one embodiment, comprises the steps of: receiving time difference of arrival (TDoA) slots from anchor nodes (ANs); and measuring the position of the terminal by using the TDoA slots, wherein the TDoA slots include control information of the ANs and positioning reference signals (PRSs) of the ANs.
Systems and methods to facilitate location determination by beamforming of a positioning reference signal
Techniques are provided for positioning of a mobile device in a wireless network using directional positioning reference signals (PRS), also referred to as PRS beamforming. In an example method, a plurality of directional PRSs are generated for at least one cell for a base station, such that each of the plurality of directional PRSs comprises at least one signal characteristic and a direction of transmission, either or both of which may be distinct or unique. The plurality of directional PRSs is transmitted within the at least one cell, such that each of the plurality of directional PRSs is transmitted in the direction of transmission. A mobile device may acquire and measure at least one of the directional PRSs which may be identified using the associated signal characteristic. The measurement may be used to assist position methods such as OTDOA and ECID and to mitigate multipath.
Comb shift design
Disclosed are techniques related to wireless communication. In an aspect, a sequence generating entity factorizes a comb size N into prime factors of N, and generates one or more offset sequences for a reference signal for positioning based on one or more sequence lists associated with the prime factors of N and a number of symbols M over which the reference signal is scheduled.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING THE POSITION OF AT LEAST ONE OBJECT
The invention relates to a method and a system for position determination of at least one object, in particular inside a building. In a method for position determination of at least one object, at least four transmitters transmit circularly polarized signals and a receiver to be localized receives the circularly polarized signals. At least two and in particular all transmitters transmit periodic signals of different frequencies, these frequencies being closely adjacent.
Doppler group radar, group sonar and group sensor
In many applications such as automobiles on busy highways, if a lot of vehicles on road are equipped with Doppler radars to help improve driving safety, no matter human-driven or auto-driven, if the radars use same frequency band, avoiding interference between them is a hard task. Assigning distinct frequencies is one of the solutions, however not only it wastes expensive spectrum resource, but also the task itself to dynamically assign frequency to vehicles randomly come together becomes a hard one to do. The disclosed invention of Doppler group radar will allow radar devices to work together using shared frequency band without interfering one another, without sacrificing performance, and without much increase in costs.
METHODS, APPARATUS, AND ARTICLES OF MANUFACTURE TO LOCATE PERSONS BASED ON ADJUSTABLE SIGNAL STRENGTH THRESHOLDS
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to locate persons based on adjustable signal strength thresholds. Example instructions cause processor circuitry to at least collect monitoring area information for a monitoring environment. Example instructions additionally cause the processor circuitry to determine, based on the monitoring area information, one or more one or more signal strength thresholds to set for one or more radio frequency (RF) beacons deployed to the monitoring environment. In some examples, example instructions cause the processor circuitry to, after reception of monitoring information from one or more devices in the monitoring environment, process the monitoring information and the one or more signal strength thresholds to determine one or more locations of the one or more devices in the monitoring environment.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TRANSMITTING A BIT SEQUENCE AND ESTIMATING THE ARRIVAL TIME OF SAME
A method for transmitting a bit sequence to be transmitted at a frequency f.sub.b. A set of codes is determined in advance, wherein each code is associated with a possible value from a block of N.sub.b bits, and each code includes an ordered set of N.sub.s binary symbols intended to be transmitted at a frequency f.sub.s. The method includes splitting the bit sequence into N blocks of N.sub.b bits, the frequency f.sub.s and the numbers N and N.sub.b being selected such that N.sub.s×f.sub.b=N×N.sub.b×f.sub.s, associating a code with each of the N blocks according to the value from the blocks, interleaving the binary symbols of the N codes respectively corresponding to the N blocks of bits to be transmitted, the interleaved binary symbols being transmitted at a frequency f.sub.c such that N×f.sub.s=f.sub.c.
