METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ULTRA-WIDEBAND (UWB) BASED PLATFORM INTRUSION DETECTION
Systems and methods are provided for platform intrusion detection. An ultra-wideband (UWB) based platform intrusion detection may include transmitting UWB signals into an area in proximity to a platform, the area that includes one or more tracks; receiving UWB signals within the area; and processing received UWB signals to enable detecting objects within the area. The processing may include identifying received UWB signals corresponding to echoes of the transmitted UWB signal transmitted by the detection devices; detecting based on the echoes of the transmitted UWB signals when an object is present within the area; and assessing the object, wherein assessing the object includes determining when the object represents an intrusion within the area.
Processor and system for train assistance tracking and early-warning
The present disclosure provides a processor and a system for train assistance tracking and early-warning. The processor includes a synthesis analysis unit configured to perform a synthesis logic analysis on information ahead of a train based on a preset logic synthesis rule; and an identification unit configured to identify an abnormal condition within a predetermined distance ahead of the train according to an analysis result, wherein the abnormal condition includes an appearance of any one or more of a signal machine, an obstacle, or a track turnout.
Positive train control system and method
A positive train control system and method may comprise one or more switch monitors and/or one or more track monitors providing sensor data relative to one or more switches and/or one or more tracks, respectively, determining whether there is an anomaly of a switch or track, and when there is, providing a message, alert and/or warning, and/or initiating a train control action. Determination of an anomaly may be preformed on a train or at a remote location, e.g., a central facility.
Railroad car location, speed, and heading detection system and methods with self-powered wireless sensor nodes
A railroad car location, speed and heading sensor system including at least one self-powered, tie-mounted sensor node that is applicable universally to different railroad settings without using track circuits, inductive loops, radar systems, and wheel counters and associated disadvantages. Reliable and relatively low cost deterministic and redundant car presence detection is realized when multiple sensor nodes are arranged in a network, which may be a wireless mesh network, that is not affected by environmental conditions.
SENSOR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION SYSTEM AND METHOD, AND AUTOMATIC DRIVING SYSTEM
A recording unit records an installation position of a ground installation object and an installation identifier of the ground installation object for each of a plurality of the ground installation objects installed beside a track on which a vehicle of a track transport system mounted with an external sensor travels; an installation object recognition unit specifies the installation identifier from external sensor information including information detected by the external sensor and recognizes the ground installation object corresponding to the installation identifier by referring to the recording unit; and a detection distance calculation unit calculates a detection distance of the external sensor. The detection distance calculation unit calculates the detection distance of the external sensor from a self-position of the vehicle at which the ground installation object is recognized and the installation position of the ground installation object recognized by the installation object recognition unit.
Anti-collision device and system for use with a railcar
An anti-collision system for railcars and locomotives provides a distance ranging and worker coupling protection system utilizing remote-sensing radar techniques for use with a locomotive and railcar. The anti-collision system may include an object detector device attached to a railcar or a locomotive that detects objects in a path of the railcar and the locomotive and a train display device electrically connected to the object detector device. The anti-collision system may also include an emergency action device which enables a crew member to stop the railcar or locomotive without communication to a locomotive operator when a hazard is recognized. The object detector device may include a remote sensor, a radio, and a microprocessor programmed to include data-logging to record and log all data from the anti-collision system.
High-integrity object detection system and method
A method and system include receiving positioning and motion information from one or more positioning and motion devices on a vehicle on a guideway, based on the positioning and motion information, receiving information from a database on the vehicle, the information comprising track geometry information and infrastructure information corresponding to the guideway, using the track geometry information and positioning and motion information to determine a path of the guideway and a trajectory of the vehicle along the path, receiving data from one or more electromagnetic sensors on the vehicle, and detecting an object by using the trajectory, the infrastructure information, and the information from the one or more electromagnetic sensors.
Path disruption alert vehicle system and method
A path disruption alert vehicle system that positions an alert vehicle forward of an ensuing vehicle, alerts the ensuing vehicle of sensed path disruption events, and alerts individuals that are in the path of the oncoming ensuing vehicle.
Emergency action system for use with a locomotive
An anti-collision system for railcars and locomotives and, more particularly, to a distance ranging and worker coupling protection system utilizes remote-sensing radar techniques for use with a locomotive and railcar.
Transport system
A transport system includes a plurality of transport vehicles. Each transport vehicle includes: a distance detecting portion configured to detect a distance to a preceding transport vehicle, which is another transport vehicle traveling in front of the corresponding transport vehicle; a signal transmitting portion for transmitting a start signal to a subsequent transport vehicle, which is another transport vehicle traveling behind the corresponding transport vehicle; and a signal receiving portion for receiving the start signal that is transmitted from the preceding transport vehicle. Each transport vehicle is configured to transmit, when starting to travel, the start signal using the signal transmitting portion, to start to travel upon receiving the start signal from the preceding transport vehicle using the signal receiving portion, and to stop when the distance to the preceding transport vehicle that is detected by the distance detecting portion is equal to or smaller than a set distance.
