The invention relates to a reflector comprising a reflector cavity (110) having a front opening for receiving EMR into the reflector cavity (110) for subsequent reflection of the EMR by at least one reflector element (120) arranged within the reflector cavity (110), characterized in that the reflector further comprises a front cover (130) that has high EM R transmittance in at least parts of the EM spectrum, the front cover (130) being arranged to cover the front opening of the reflector cavity (110), and that the front cover (130) and front opening form a gastight seal (140) impermeable to gas to prevent transport of material into and out of the reflector cavity (110) through the front opening.
Saddle riding type vehicle comprising a collision risk reduction system
A saddle riding type vehicle including a main body extending along a longitudinal axis and having a front part, a tail part and a central part interposed between the front part and the tail part, at least one front wheel and at least one rear wheel, a motor operatively connected to at least one of the wheels, a system mounted on the main body for reducing a collision risk and comprising at least one active radar reflector, where the collision risk reduction system allows the radar visibility of the vehicle to be increased as a radar target, i.e. increasing its equivalent radar cross section, in order to reduce the risk of the vehicle being involved in a collision with another vehicle equipped with automotive radar which, in an operating condition and during operation, approaches the vehicle.
VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING MALFUNCTION OF TOUCH SENSOR IN VEHICLE DOOR
A vehicle and a method are configured to prevent malfunction of a touch sensor in a vehicle door. The vehicle includes a transceiver for transmitting a searching signal to a smart key located outside the vehicle and receiving a response signal to the searching signal, at least one touch sensor mounted in a door of the vehicle to sense a touch input of a user in a capacitive scheme, and a controller that determines an approach direction of the smart key based on the response signal and controls to operate only a touch sensor installed in a door mapped to the approach direction among the at least one touch sensor.
System and method for ranging-assisted vehicle positioning
Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to device-to-device (D2D) and, more particularly, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication in which an efficient ranging protocol allows efficient ranging-assisted vehicle positioning. A vehicle transmits a first slot ID in a first control period, to indicate a first time slot for transmitting a first ranging signal in a ranging cycle including a plurality of time slots. The vehicle transmits the first ranging signal in the first time slot in the ranging cycle. From a second vehicle, the first vehicle receives a second ranging signal in a second time slot that is different from the first time slot in the ranging cycle. The first vehicle determines a first time-of-arrival (ToA) of the second ranging signal when received by the first vehicle, and transmits the first ToA in a second control period.
Road identification system using enhanced cross-section targets
An aspect of the present disclosure is directed to and provides radar-reflecting systems and apparatus that employ metasurfaces to produce enhanced radar cross sections that are greater than those produced by the geometry of the surfaces alone. Another aspect of the present disclosure is directed to and provides heat-ducting systems and apparatus that include metasurfaces. A further aspect of the present disclosure is directed to and provides cards with metasurfaces. Exemplary embodiments utilize fractal plasmonic surfaces for a metasurface.
Method for determining the position of a mobile radio station by means of a vehicle, and vehicle
A method for determining the position of a mobile radio station by a vehicle, the method being based on a plurality of radio measurements. The invention further relates to a vehicle for carrying out such a method.
Radar radiation redirecting tape
Radar radiation redirecting tapes (1, 2) include a first plurality of individual radar-reflecting directional antennae (5, 11). Each directional antenna comprises at least three elongate, unevenly spaced antenna conductors (10, 20, 30), arranged with their long extensions parallel to each other in the plane of the tape, such that the directional antenna is operable to reflect incoming radar radiation predominantly in a direction (80) which is orthogonal to the long extension of the antenna conductors and parallel to the plane of the tape.
DIRECTIONAL SPEED AND DISTANCE SENSOR
A method of using a directional sensor for the purposes of detecting the presence of a vehicle or an object within a zone of interest on a roadway or in a parking space. The method comprises the following steps: transmitting a microwave transmit pulse of less than 5 feet; radiating the transmitted pulse by a directional antenna system; receiving received pulses by an adjustable receive window; integrating or combining signals from multiple received pulses; amplifying and filtering the integrated receive signal; digitizing the combined signal; comparing the digitized signal to at least one preset or dynamically computed threshold values to determine the presence or absence of an object in the field of view of the sensor; and providing at least one pulse generator with rise and fall times of less than 3 ns each and capable of generating pulses less than 10 ns in duration.
Work machine control system, work machine, and work machine control method
A work machine control system includes: a position sensor that detects the position of a work machine travelling on a traveling path; a non-contact sensor that detects the position of an object around the work machine; and a map data creation unit that creates map data on the basis of a detection point of the object and detection data of the position sensor, the detection point being detected by the non-contact sensor and satisfying a defined matching condition.
Method and system for high-integrity vehicle localization and speed determination
A vehicle locator includes an on-board computer and a ground penetrating radar mounted on the vehicle that is communicably connected to the on-board computer. A reflective landmark is located at a known location along the path of the vehicle. The reflective landmark includes reflective elements arranged to encode data. The ground penetrating radar transmits signal energy and detects reflected signal energy reflected by the reflective landmark and communicates encoded data representative of the reflected signal energy to the on-board computer. The on-board computer decodes the encoded data and thereby determines the location of the vehicle.
