AN EXPANDABLE PLUG BODY FOR USE IN VAGINA AND ITS APPLICATION

The present invention relates to an expandable plug body for use in a vagina which is expandable at a predetermined value in an aqueous solution and has an expansion value of 1 to 30 at saturated water absorption. Effective components may be immersed in the interior of the expandable plug body, or dissolved and dispersed in the material wrapping the expandable plug body. The expandable plug body is primarily used in the vagina. The present invention provides an expandable plug body having some unique physical properties such as expanding at a predetermined expansion value, expanding at a specific pH value, and periodically expanding, so that it has a good performance when used as a medicine, a cosmetic, and a disinfection product. After the application of the original liquid of the expandable plug body onto the vagina for 35 min, antibacterial rates of which on E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans are all in the range of 8995%.

Catheter Device and Method for Inducing Negative Pressure in a Patient's Bladder

A urine collection catheter is provided. The catheter includes: a conduit having an open distal end; a drainage tube positioned at least partially within the conduit; and a bladder superior wall support. The drainage tube includes one or more fluid ports or perforations for permitting fluid flow into a drainage lumen defined by the drainage tube. The bladder superior wall support includes a support cap and a plurality of support members extending from a proximal surface of the support cap through the open distal end of the conduit. The support cap is capable of being moved between a retracted position and a deployed position. In the deployed position, the distal end of the drainage tube is spaced apart from the support cap, such that the support cap supports portions of the superior wall of the bladder from occluding the one or more fluid ports or perforations of the drainage tube.

The device (10) has a handle (16) fixed to an end of a shaft (14). The handle is provided for the insertion of a detachable collection container (12) into a vagina, for rotation of the collection container about its longitudinal axis within the vagina or for the removal of the collection container from the vagina. The handle is provided with a hole (24), which is connected with the hollow interior of the shaft or a ventilation tube to ensure the supply of air to prevent pressure differences during removal of the collection container from the vagina. An independent claim is included for a method for absorption and controlled discharge of liquid excretion from a vagina.

MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS

In one example, a medical system may comprise a delivery tube configured to couple to a vacuum source and provide negative pressure to a distal portion of the delivery tube; and a porous body at a distal portion of the delivery tube, the porous body including a first section and a second section removable from the first section.

A tampon with an absorbent body of which at least a part of its volume is made from an absorbent material and having a middle part, a distal end and a proximal end, and which is connected to an extraction device. The volume of absorbent material in such a tampon is designed to absorb between 0.5 g and 4 g, preferably 3.5 g, of liquid.

Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion

Ureteral catheters are provided including a drainage lumen including a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis for receiving fluid from a patient's kidney and a proximal portion for draining the fluid from the distal portion, the distal portion including a coiled retention portion including: at least a first coil having a first diameter; at least a second coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter, the second coil being closer to an end of the distal portion of the drainage lumen than the first coil; and one or more perforations on a sidewall of the coiled retention portion of the distal portion of the drainage lumen for permitting fluid flow into the drainage lumen, wherein the proximal portion of the drainage lumen is essentially free of or free of perforations.
