Method and apparatus for early detection of diabetic foot disorders by analyzing foot temperature and vertical and shear forces on feet
11596832 · 2023-03-07 · ·

A system for analysis of user gait and foot disorder intended to minimize risks ulceration and limb amputation associated with the uncontrolled increase of the foot temperature in persons with diabetes. This system comprises a motion, force and temperature sensors and a processing element configured to process motion algorithms, measure ground reaction force (GRF) and changes in foot temperature embedded in the footwear insoles in communication with a smartphone based analysis application using wireless radio interface. The analysis application processes data received from the footwear sensors, compares the results with set of criteria and rules, and if any of the predefined criteria is exceeded, provides alerts to the user and the remote medical supervisor. Additionally, the insoles may be equipped with a haptic actuators configured to determine the level of the user neuropathy by measuring vibration perception threshold (VPT) level.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, ACTION ANALYSIS SYSTEM, ACTION ANALYSIS METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A sensor device includes a processor configured to communicate with a user terminal as a communication apparatus that downloads positioning satellite information from a management server, acquires a current location by using the positioning satellite information, acquires action information indicating a result of an action of a user, and when the action information is acquired, instruct the user terminal to download the positioning satellite information from the management, and execute a process for acquiring a prediction ephemeris from the user terminal.

A wearable positioning device includes an inertial sensor, a storage device and a processor. The inertial sensor senses an acceleration signal and an angular velocity signal. The storage device stores a previous positioning signal and a current coordinate. The processor is electrically connected to the inertial sensor and the storage device. A wearable positioning method is executed by the processor, which includes: determining whether the wearable positioning device is in one of an under-water mode and an above-water mode according to a pressure sensing signal; calculating, when in the under-water mode, a current acceleration and a current direction according to the acceleration signal, the angular velocity signal, and a swimming posture signal representing a swimming posture; and calculating a current positioning signal according to the current acceleration, the current direction and the previous positioning signal, and updating the current coordinate with the current positioning signal.

Music Selection Based on Exercise Detection

Techniques for music selection based on exercise detection are disclosed. In one aspect, a method of operating a wearable device may involve determining, based on output of one or more biometric sensors, that a user of the wearable device has started an exercise and playing music for the user of the wearable device in response to determining the start of the exercise. For example, playing the music may involve turning on a music player based on the start of the exercise. In another example, the wearable device includes the music player.

Presented are intelligent electronic footwear and apparel with controller-automated features, methods for making/operating such footwear and apparel, and control systems for executing automated features of such footwear and apparel. A method for operating an intelligent electronic shoe (IES) includes receiving, e.g., via a controller through a wireless communications device from a GPS satellite service, location data of a user. The controller also receives, e.g., from a backend server-class computer or other remote computing node, location data for a target object or site, such as a virtual shoe hidden at a virtual spot. The controller retrieves or predicts path plan data including a derived route for traversing from the user's location to the target's location within a geographic area. The controller then transmits command signals to a navigation alert system mounted to the IES's shoe structure to output visual, audio, and/or tactile cues that guide the user along the derived route.

Presented are intelligent electronic footwear and apparel with controller-automated features, methods for making/operating such footwear and apparel, and control systems for executing automated features of such footwear and apparel. A method for automating a collaborative operation between an intelligent electronic shoe (IES) and an intelligent transportation management (ITM) system includes receiving, via a detection tag attached to the IES shoe structure, a prompt signal from a transmitter-detector module communicatively connected to a traffic system controller of the ITM system. In reaction to the received prompt signal, the detection tag transmits a response signal to the transmitter-detector module. The traffic system controller uses the response signal to determine a location of the IES's user, and the current operating state of a traffic signal proximate the user's location. The traffic system controller transmits a command signal to the traffic signal to switch from the current operating state to a new operating state.
